How I beat ekko top as a bot laner (Lord Dominiks regard + vamp scepter)

So I was playing a game as draven and there was a super fed ekko in top lane. Basically, I just build last whisper and vamp and after that I could almost face tank him. He doesnt have enough dmg to beat LS in combo with %Armor Pen.

It helps that I was playing draven and got fed, but he actually was pulling ahead of me in kills and so it was kinda even, but I was ahead of him I think.

Anyways, when you build an upgraded lw item early theres no room for a tank like ekko to run. It makes armor almost 50% less effective and can give you 15% bonus dmg. Combine that with some sustain and he doesnt have the dmg to kill you.

I wonder if tank ekko is having so much sucess because we arent building lifesteal and % armor pen early enough? Ekko has base dmg, soft cc, and is tanky. That means that lifesteal is really effective because he cant stop your auto attacks and % armor pen synergies with it because more dmg to him gets thru and that gives more health back to you.

Rivens hard cc is much more effective than ekkos sticking power because you cant get any hp back while you are in her cc, but you can while ekko tries to beat you up.

Thats something to think about. I dont think the LW items get the credit that they should because they dont help anyone blow squishies up. Still tho, LDR can be really really effective. I think that if you buy a LW while you are ahead, then it really does help you more than buying more dmg and crit. It almost means that the enemy tanks cant get any stronger despite buying more armor items.

Despite the fact that you feel like you want to kill the enemy mage or adc faster, thats not your job. Thats your tank's job and they can do it without your help as long as they arent worried about protecting you from the enemy tanks. Your job is to make sure your tanks live longer than their tanks by killing the shit out of their tanks. That way you free your guys up to chunk the enemy mage to the point where you dont need that extra crit item you might have bought.

I feel like is a better build to shoot for if youve got a solid front lines on each team. If your team doesnt have a front line, you want to replace with a defensive item, if their team doesnt have a front line and yours does then maybe you want instead of , if there are no front lines at all then you want a or in stead of or .

I made this thread because im not seeing last whisper third item in a lot of games.
