Will Galio Get Any Love?

I've been playing Galio recently and was wondering if there were any possible updates for him in the future. The thing about Galio is despite being unpopular he's not bad and I find him pretty fun to play. At the same time though, especially compared to much newer champions, I think he could be more interesting and he has a lot of potential.

I think one of his problems is that he lacks a strong theme. Story-wise he's a gargoyle-like creature and a guardian. This isn't much to go on, but it's not bad. Gameplay-wise I think his roles are important. He's a tank and a mage and I think a core feature of Galio is that he gains power from his defense. I think this needs to be emphasized.

Looking at his abilities:

His passive, Runic Skin, should be replaced. I've seen posts from Riot in the past that said they were thinking about making his abilities scale off of MR and giving him a new passive. I don't know what happened to those plans, but please consider it again. It would allow Galio to become tanky while also gaining power just like he can now, but with a more interesting passive.

His Q, Resolute Smite, is good as it is. Pretty good damage and a slow. Maybe something else could be added to it, but I don't have any ideas.

His W, Bulwark, is somewhat interesting. Gives him armor and MR and heals him on being damaged. I think this ability fits his theme since he can defend himself and allies, but I think it could do more to increase his power along with his defenses. Currently it does make his attacks a bit more powerful since it raises his MR, which gives him more AP from his passive, but it feels like a convenient side effect and not a direct power increase.

His E, Righteous Gust, feels like the most out of place and least thematic of his abilities. The extra damage is nice and the MS buff for the team can be helpful, but there doesn't seems any reason for him to have this ability thematically other than the fact that he has wings. Besides that he doesn't have anything to do with wind. I have seen suggestions that his E could also slow enemies in its range, which isn't a bad idea. Personally I think this ability could be reworked. It could become a more reliable and effective engage (Still using his wings) than just a MS buff in a specific area, while still buffing his teammates in someway.

Finally his ultimate, Idol of Durand. This is definitely his best, most interesting, and most thematically sound ability. Taunting enemies (thereby getting them away from his teammates), decreasing damage taken, and then doing damage based on how many times he is hit fits Galio perfectly as a guardian drawing power from protection.

Overall I think his abilities could cost a bit less. Not so much that he doesn't have to worry about conserving his mana at all, but enough that he doesn't have to be too conservative with it.

One more thing. He needs a visual update, his colors are too bright and his model is outdated. Looking at his current splash art, he is a deep blue with gold adornments. In game though he's sky blue and banana yellow, so he looks more like Play-Doh and less like a regal statue.

Thank you for reading. Feel free to give your own thoughts on Galio and on my ideas. Galio

Hard to balance his other abilities with a game breaking ult like his

Shhh, don't talk about Galio. I want him to stay under the radar strong.

I suppose his ult can be rather game changing if used correctly, but it's also easily interrupted if you can avoid the taunt and have some sort of interrupt (or even sometimes if you can'tUdyr ) If some power needed to be drawn from his ult to increase the power of his other abilities I think Galio could become more useful even when he can't use Idol of Durand.
