Supports, The most important role In the Game

Well I've been giving this some thought now and i'be been playing team builder lately and whenever we look for some support we just wait forever. Supports are the most essential roles in the game without them we would not have the op Thresh orBlitzcrank the amazing cc…

Butt These guys don't want to be supports because… idk why. Maybe because these guys are heavily relied on and the adc rages because the supports SUPPORT and they fail to do that so they just don't like the fact they'er being yelled at. Probably. I'm rarely support. So i just play random champs at bot to make the waiting shorter with my friend. So Honestly i want to know why people don't usually pick supports or just end up being support. Riot pls tell me the secret. Or someone tell me the reason why… PLS

Coming from a support main going into my third season and has peaked at Plat V, Support is the one role where you HAVE to rely on others. You aren't the damage dealer, you aren't the massive tank, and you aren't the person people usually fear. Your entire job is to make it so the enemy team has someone to fear, but that person is also your biggest kryptonite.

You can feed your laner as much as you can making them go 9-0-2 in lane or even something more ridiculous. Yet this doesn't make them a better player. It won't make them position any better and it won't make them understand how to rotate any more. They are just as good as they were, but with more damage and making it more important to protect them now.

Personally I rarely lose lane, but anyone who knows anything about this game then you know lane doesn't mean anything if you can't keep up later. If you can't position well, teamfight, rotate, or close out the game it doesn't matter how well you do in the first 10-15 minutes of the game. You are still bad at what you do and it won't change just because you have some gold and a lot of kills. Every other role has something about it that can carry a team. You either have the damage carries in bot and mid lane, tank/initiator top and jungle, and the junglers who can appear from no where and deal damage while feeding their laner. Most of these champs have damage or superior tankiness that can change the fight or put matters in your hand.

Now thats the downside, but in the hands of a good team a good support is a literal god. If your team understands the basics and only makes minor mistakes a support will make or break the game. Where they ward, when and where they choose to use their utility, and how well they peel can change everything. It is a massive double edged sword that is based around not only your own skill, but the skill of your teammates.

You could pick thresh and troll pre-game lobbies as hard as you want and they won't kick you for whatever reason. In fact, you can even get other people kicked out of the lobby. People don't want to play support because they believe that they should be the driving force of the team from start to finish. That's why top and mid are the most common position. Mid is so irrelevant to me it doesn't matter if they get fed. Top can get chained down and beaten. Adc will always be in the back. It's the crucial decisions from the jungler and support that change everything.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8N5yTdGhIU Watch this. A little outdated, but still valid. I was a support main, but it limits your playmaking ability so much on lowers levels of play. Most ADC feel entitled, act arrogant, blame you for their mistakes, don't use their free ward and bad mouth the entire game. You have to rely on someone else to do well in a game, and if the synergy isn't there, the lane is almost certainly lost. There are so many hooks I can land, but if there is no follow up, it's for nothing. Support players need to be encouraged more, it needs to be turned into a valid role that can make that difference on all levels of play. We are not all Aphromoo, and it's certainly more fun and diverse to play something like Mid or Top lane.

People dont play support because with ost, if you get a bad adc and get screwed in lane, your nerfed the rest of the match. And everything is always your fault.

An importation role yes, not the most though. If the game fell to a a 4v4 they would be the first class people would drop and force sight stone on the jungler.

  1. It's not rewarding

  2. Very few dedicated support items

  3. ADC always blames me when the idiot is the one who decided to initiate a 1v2 with 20% of his HP left

  4. I never or hardly ever get a Nice Job when I land CC guaranteeing a kill, but lord help me if I slip and my ADC doesn't get it.

  5. I accidentally take 1 CS and the ADC AFK's for the rest of the game.

  6. When the enemy jungler ganks and kills the ADC, ADC then trashes on me for not saving him when I told him I was OOM and we should recall 10 seconds beforehand.

  7. Getting blamed for KS when the ADC died before he could deal the final blow, and I'm all like "why waste it?"

  8. ADC always wants to push for turret when low on HP, and then comes enemy jungler...>_>

  9. Getting flamed for not buying Sightstone when I buy more than enough Wards and Pinks when I back anyways.

  10. Gold Items are mandatory If I ever hope to keep up with enemy builds.

  11. when I land kill guaranteed CC UNDER OUR DAMN TURRET, and the ADC decides "Whelp, better recall lololol"

Supports are far and between not the most important players on the team. That only applies to early game laning when a hard carry isn't weak enough to effectively deal with the enemy team. Do they bring necessary utility? Yes, sure. Are they the most important? No, they are not.

The most important players are the initiators and the hard carries. Stop trying to have bones tossed to you because you chose to be the bottom lane's bitch-boy.

Rule 1: Supports can ne'er do wrong Rule 2: AD Carries are the Devil incarnate, Teemo is their prince. Rule 3: Thresh, Blitz, Leona. This is the holy trinity. Learn them well.

Pretty much exactly what you said.

We're sick of being raged on. It's rare to find supp mains nowadays because of raging teams.
