Quick maths on division subtraction, and tier addition

If you didnt read the post, riot proposed a ranked change that would add two tiers for a smoother low elo game, and a larger difference in high elo ranking. They are also removing the 5th division from each tier to "emphasize high moments". The problem is that in the grand scheme, its all placebo. Correct me if im wrong, but the math just doesnt seem game changing when you really take a look.

Current ranked tier system: 5 tiers of 5 = 25 divisions + masters and challenger(presumably)

Changes presented: 7 tiers of 4 = 28 divisions + masters and challenger(again presuming)

I hate to be this guy, but as the guy whos posted multiple times about the dire need of more tiers, i dont really think 3 divisions is going to really have the weight riot is advertising.

I understand the changes are tentative and far out, but just my 2 cents on what was presented.
