Being a support and the cost of items

edit: I mean MAGE support

Sucks. Usually the game is over before we even get a chance to get 3 good end game items.

By mage "support" do you mean Brand item 3092 item 3151 item 3116 item 3165 item 3089 item 3020 ?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that isn't a support. That's just a mage with the ability to ward. A mage support build would have items like these and notice their prices.

item 3504 2300 item 3174 2100 item 3905 2400

Compare those prices to that of the items a juggernaut wants to build. The cheapest offensive item that a juggernaut ever wants is 3k gold.

item 3078 3733 item 3053 3200 item 3748 3500 item 3022 3100 item 3071 3000

Don't play gold reliant champions in the most gold starved role then.

You have the cheapest itemization in the game. Tell that to fighters who have who need to spend 12k for 3 items + boots.

Let me rephrase this. MAGE-support items.

Play actual supports instead of bringing Mages into botlane.

Mage supports can do serious work with just a few items, but you do have to accept that you're not going to do the kind of damage a well farmed mid mage is going to do.

With Morgana and Lux all you need is eye of the watchers and Athene's and you've got the CDR and mana regeneration for some serious CC and shields.

Veigar and Brand, meanwhile, should seriously ask themselves if they're going to be useful enough without lots of farm to justify going "support".
