Zyra because she can do a lot of damage in one combo, regardless if your adc follows up or not. Brand is also good for damage, but a bit harder to cc with imo. A lot of people are picking malzahar now for the utility he brings, and he forces people to run away if he Gets in range of e and uses voidlings.

So far: Morgana Janna Soraka Leona Zyra

I would recommend Janna Nami Leona

They are all quite fun champs to play, enjoy!

Taric is a really good support when you get the hang of the finess required of him.

He can easily 1v1 the adc early game, so if you're aggressive you can help your ADC snag first blood really easily.

lulu support summon aery ult hat transcendence gathering storm

perfect timing cosmic insight

This is so freaking annoying to play against; she has ult up basically every damn time you fight. I tried it, then I found myself running into opponents doing it and its ridiculous. Ult your adc, they become a bruiser in terms of durability thanks to shields and attack/movespeed help you give too. Or ult your frontline to make them twice as durable. Or bait enemies into focusing you first and ult yourself - wasting all the enemy team's burst and still living at 40%hp. Probably works for solo lane too - and then you could build more cdr/movespeed/dmg items to scale harder with transcendence.

Maokai with aftershock. You thought leona was tough to play against? Mao is way worse partly because he offers guaranteed lockdown on those slippery adc's like ez, vayne, and luc as well as those pesky bursty mage supports all while being able to use w to dodge out on enemy damage.

Leona. I find I do really well with her. But I've been playing Leona for a long, long time now. If your team knows how to follow up on your engages, she's great.

Caitlyn

Janna for sure. Anybody can get at least to high Diamond by just maining Janna. She has a very low banrate and has an insane winrate.

So far in solo que I've notice that Morgana is more versatile and flexible with adcs such as Jhin and Draven because of the stun she has however if you're team composition lacks nessary tanking ability i recommend taking Nautilus or Leona if your team needs more stunning ability with sturdy tank. I personally do recommend bringing Braum because his kit only contains 1 stun, 1 knock up, and 1 slow if you're team is lacking in tank and the enemy has mostly ad champs. The current supports that bode well with each other are as follows Ashe with Blitzcrank Braum Volibear . Caitlyn with Braum Blitzcrank Leona Lux Morgana. Vayne with Anivia Braum Thresh. these are the add combinations I personally know work. My Favorite in My view is Bard because of the baiting and gank ability and he got buffed with more moment speed upon chime collection which is boss AF you can't catch him as easily. Now we come to the most annoying champ in the game Yasuo . A good support to counter him is Leona if you have troubles aginst yasuos use this champ and stop that MF from dashing and still be a tank. For new supports just take Zilean Blitzcrank Annie Janna . Do not take Yorick

The support post imo is the post which riot has worked best on all their champs. All supports are pretty useful and balanced and have their own special cons. It really depends on the division & knowledge, but one important thing to me while supporting is if I know/trust my adc, I make different choices on support than I make when I don't know how the person next to me is going to play.

For example, when I support a MissFortune that I know is going to time with me and use the R combo etc, I'm going to pick Malphite , who is super for the team as well, since his R is precious and he can take a lot of dmg in teamfights.

Soraka is also good if you trust the person you're playing with. You have some life-saving heals and this R that can even counter a Karthus R.

Morgana is a safe choice paired with anyone and has a big dmg output as well.

Sona and Nami are also 2 easy and safe choices to pair with everyone and help in teamfights.

This is all just personal preference though.

Alistar because he can gank his own lane, heal simply by staying in lane, tank almost everything with his ult and w q people in teamfights for easy kills. He is just great at everything :3

Legendofmoi7/19/2017, 2:58:52 PM1 votes

I have been maining supports since i got the game. For a safe choice choose Sona or Soraka. For a challenge try Leona or Braum(Im buying him soon!). To spice things up, you can even support as Ashe(Slows and Stuns) and MF (E is an amazing slow and R can easily save someone's butt.)

Hope this helps!

PrecisionGaming18/4/2017, 11:10:40 AM1 votes

i will give you a top 5 1.Alistar he is very tanky you can just pop ult go into the middle of the enemy and you wont die so fast plus if you do that with your team mates behind you your team will get alot of kills 2. Thresh, he has a very good pull and in team fights if you q and q again and e that enemy will probably die because your team mates will kill him pretyy fast since you pull him next to your team. 3. Blitzkrank, he does high damage and he is very tanky, his pull isnt good as thresh's pull but he still it is very good, if you go against an alistar with blitzkrank and you pull him you are pretty much getting his adc free kills because he qill q and w your adc or you away from your turret 4.Tahm kench: good damage, tanky and can save team mates pretty well with his w, he can set up ganks with his adc for mid with his r and trust me his r is really good to gank other lanes with your adc. 5. Janna : i dont use janna but when i go against her she is extremly annoying and can save her adc with her ult, her tornado is annoying too but i dont know much about her.

Sion specifically for me works really well in the bot lane with his Q slow/Knockup and his E slow, his R as well. His CC combo if paired with an adc like Jhin that can snare and cait who can also snare leads into a deadly combo

Sion Combo: E, Q Cait: W Auto Q Auto Jhin: W Q Auto Sion: W R Jhin: Auto, E ahead, auto, auto (R if necessary) Cait: E, auto, (R if necessary)

In that order, an enemy adc would easily be helpless against a Sion Cait or Jhin and his R is also very good for roaming to mid lane as well as a good escape if something goes wrong.

To carry the lane a bit harder taking Black Cleaver or Mallet helps to zone off the enemy with your damage, and if you REALLY want to carry, you can build Lethality Sion which can oneshot adc’s mid to late game with his R Q combo and intiates fights very well.

Personally I prefer building him like a traditional tank support and playing around my team, sometimes we’ll totally feed the enemy and still pull a win simply because of his cc capability.

Lethality Sion I would only suggest if you have a very tanky team comp, the damage would bode very well in teamfights.

Tank Sion also scales very well with a Warmongs late game, I usually end with around 5000 hp and I can tank the enemy for days with the mr and armor I have which usually ends up allowing my team to get an ace or an inhib.

Morgana for me

There is no overall "best".

What is your personal style? A support that is synergistic of that, is going to be better for you, than some random choice.

I am a mechanically poor, macro capable player. Supports that reward macro play and are mechanically undemanding are better for me than lane dominant micro-outplay-precision machines. My play style also tilts towards play making and play setup, at the expense of enabling or protective play.

So for me, Soraka and Janna (protective) are inferior to Tahm Kench and Alistar, and the same goes for thresh (mechanically difficult).

I will say this: If you intend to OTP, thresh is by far your best choice, with the most versatile kit if you can afford to learn him. However, if you do not intend to invest in him, don't touch him. He is demanding and without practice specifically on him, you will fail at him.

Personally, I main Thresh. I know Thresh is one of the harder supports but hear me out. Thresh can win you lane even if your AD Carry is horrible. You can land hooks? That's all you need. You have a lantern that can bring your adc to you. If they find it difficult to do so (which means they are bad or toxic) then I suggest trying to get the enemy to your carry. Do this by waiting till the last second of your Q, then you E them into your carry. Also, your jungler can also gank with a lantern in the fog of war and landing a hook on their carry. Leona is also really good, however, she can not bring her adc into a fight as well as thresh can. Also, Blitzcrank is not that hard either. Blitzcrank is one of those champions where if you land a hook on one person late game, they get melted and the enemy has to wait a death timer. Make sure you don't hook the tank or any AOE type such as Kennen

AP Supports became big because they could carry games, So I'd suggest you start there if you don't want to trust your team.

However, I'll tell you frankly, the easiest and best way to carry a game as a support is to **SUPPORT your ADC. ** If your ADC is incompetent, then you have some options, and learning what to do in these scenarios is important to 'winning' bad games as support.

Are tank supports like Alistar and Nautilus still viable in S7? haven'; been around since s5

Bugkiller865/13/2017, 11:43:05 AM1 votes

for me it's going to be nami or lulu (Janna if you have time to really learn)

Darthmemes025/16/2017, 11:25:59 PM1 votes

I know this is late af but the best supports rn are probably Maokai ,Rakan ,Zyra ,Lulu , and Malzahar . Maokai because his saplings do ridiculous damage late game and let you control the bushes during laning and later during the game provide ridiculous control of the jg. Zyra and kekzahar have been oppressive af since the start of s7 and u probably know why so I won't bother with them. Rakkan since his q is nice sustain in lane and he provides good cc with his knockup and ult charms on top of all this a nice escape especially if paired with xayah. After the Sejuani rework u can have a Mordekaiser Sejuani botlane cheese. Oh and lulu because she can help carrys like KogMaw and Caitlyn survive and be teamfight monsters.

SweetHeartLovers5/23/2017, 7:51:58 PM1 votes

Blitzcrank and Thresh are very good in late game because of their hooks! If you can land a good hook onto a squishy target! but your hook can be blocked by Yasuo wind wall and some other champs! Janna Sivir Lulu anybody that can use a shield can block your Q! so much sure to not use your Q on them if they have any of their abilities up! Yasuo and his wind wall gets bigger late game! so much sure to not Q at his team if his around them!
