Take the first step and admit your ranked matchmaking needs some fixing
I have to give the back story first, the discussion of the details is below that. The discussion wouldn't make much sense without the back story.
I recently returned to league yesterday and played a few ranked games over the last 2 days. Of the 14 or so ranked games I have played, 7 of them stand out. At some point or other during each of the games:
Game 1- 0/6/3 Nautilus Jg, 1/7/0 Fizz mid. Me-6/5/3 support (at the time) We all lost that game equally according to you Riot. Team game. Game 2- 0/4/0 Gragas top BEFORE 8:30 into the game. Me- 0/0/1 support (at the time), finished 8/3/16. We end up winning the game. That Gragas wins equally according to you Riot. Game 3- Top lane at 18 minutes has 43 minions. A 0/3/1 mid and both bot laners were 1/3 each. Me- 3/2/0 jg (at the time). We all lost that game equally according to you Riot. Game 4- 2/7/3 top, 2/10/5 mid, 0/7/4 adc. Me-2/4/6 support (at the time). We all lost that game equally according to you Riot. Game 5- 0/3/0 ADC azir who goes afk (not a typo, adc azir), 1/1/0 afk top garen, 0/3/0 jg. Me- 1/1/2 support (at the time). We all lost that game equally according to you Riot. Game 6- 1/7/5 top sion, 2/11/5 xz jg, 1/10/3 supp Karms. Me- 5/4/2 adc (at the time). We all lost that game equally according to you Riot. Game 7- 4/7/1 Top riven, 1/9/5 mid zed, 2/6/1 adc vayne. Me 3/4/4 support (at the time). We all lost that game equally according to you Riot.
I won and lost the other 7 games during that time, and those were what I would consider normal games. Some players a little behind and others ahead. But half of my games (7/14) are listed above. 50% of my games are this skewed. I have screenshots of all of the above taken from the game. I would be happy to e-mail them to you Riot. You would have my e-mail address linked to my account. Also, I'm sure you could look at my games from the last 36 hours and confirm the above in your own system. I can't see where I can add the screenshots here to this post for the community.
You can not possibly think that it is fair to play with this type of "team" and expect to win. My only assumption can be that something is broken in your matchmaking elo system whereby my entire team of random players is matched against and entirely more skilled team. I can't imagine that in 50% of my games that this large of a discrepancy between how low my team is and how high the other team is in Elo appears "randomly". Clearly there is something wrong with your matchmaking for this to happen on such a regular basis. Pay attention and fix it please.
Also, you need to balance your win/loss LP points. There is no reason we all lost/won those games equally. To be honest, I find it difficult to believe that in each game ALL of the players that seem to be having a "bad game" were on one team. That doesn't seem very balanced. Also, I can't believe all of these players that can not even get to a 1 KDA. That alone should cause some kind of banning from ranked play. I can't remember the last time that happened to me, certainly never as consistently as I am documenting in those matched around me. Across these 14 games, my "worst" game was 3/5/4 support in game 7 mentioned above where my team was a collective 14/28/12. Again, according to you, we lost that game evenly. I had a 7/4/5 jg elise that game (with math, meaning the other 3 were 7/24/7). How can you justify us two losing "equally" to the other 3 members? I want you to pick this phrase out and justify it in the context of this post. I just want to be properly rewarded for my contribution to the game. If I am consistently the best KDA, highest dmg on my team, I should get more LP for it. Plain and simple. If I do terrible and my team carries me to victory, I shouldn't get as much LP as they do. Plain and simple.
(I heard a random argument one time that KDA isn't the end-all measurement of game skill, which is true. They say, "What if you die pushing an objective?" Players are not dying 5,6,7 times in a row getting objectives. That isn't how the game works. If someone is dying like that in a side lane, just push down mid and end it yourself 5v4. Also, if the game devolves into something like that happening, it usually is someone who is already doing poorly (with the exceptions being rare). KDA to me is the fairest. And, in not a single game of my last 14 did I see anything like that happen. I saw the above 50% of the games. Nobody sacrificed themselves more than a single time for an objective during any given game. It is not commonplace enough to merit a true thought in comparison to something as unbiased as a KDA. You can be a support, an assassin, a bruiser, a tank, a carry, or anything and be involved with the game, not feeding kills, and making a difference. Most of my above game were playing from the support position. If you can only choose 1 stat in the game to base a player's performance, KDA would be it. Dmg doesn't work because I could run into the enemy team 20 times and die but use all my abilities and do dmg. Also, dmg isn't fair to tanks and supports who may not do the highest damage. Kills alone doesn't work for the same reason. I'm also not saying there should be a difference in points between players of a similar KDA. For example, a 4.0KDA and a 3.5 KDA should both be awarded additional points over the 0.3 KDA, 1.0 KDA on their team. They should be rewarded for having good games and carrying their team. Or maybe scale it a little higher for the 4.0. I'm sure there's a happy medium in there somewhere. Incentivize good players to do well and reward them for it. Give lower rewards in victory and larger LP losses in defeat as opposed to the better players. An average player should have even amounts of great and poor games. The better players will have more good games and be rewarded more for it. The worst players will have more poor games and will fall faster for it. I hope my point is understood.)
Lastly, it isn't fair for players to AFK or to just intentionally feed but not care because they know that you won't do anything about it. The other team often won't report the feeder/afk'er because hey, they won. Often your team isn't incentivized to do it, especially if there is more than one culprit. I use the reporting system, but by seeing the above game after game, I can't believe that you take it seriously or that it is at all effective enough. I just started playing again yesterday, and this is what I return to in League. This kind of stuff makes me stop for awhile when I take breaks from the game. It doesn't really make me want to keep playing. I'm sure there are others out there who will feel the same way that I do about this.
I included everything I did to show that it wasn't 1 or 2 random games here or there. It happens on a consistent basis. Please, please, please look into this. If you need any of the data from me, I downloaded the replays and I have the screenshots as mentioned above. If anyone reading this has had similar experiences, please push this up so that it maybe will get the attention of a Rioter and maybe they'll actually listen.
