On the topic of champions being: "easy to play, HARD to master"

I'm sure everyone has heard the argument of mains saying their champion is easy/hard to play, but ALWAYS hard to master. Obviously this is true sometimes, e.g. actual hard champions like Azir Azir, DravenDraven, EliseElise, or NidaleeNidalee (debatable). (By debatable I mean I think Nidalee is hard to play generally in high elos, but some people disagree with me so idk) But I've came across pretty much every main say their champion is easy to play, hard to master. This is not any form of shade, but what champions are ACTUALLY easy to play, hard to master?

the definition of 'master' is scuffed in my opinion - since what really is the full definition of 'mastering' the champion anyways? Being able to perform combos no normal player can do? playing the champion to a point you know simply EVERYTHING about them? Playing them well? Etc.

What champions are actually easy to play but hard to master? (Objectively I've heard Riven but I'm not sure now)

The more I play a champ the worse I get at them. Had an 80% Sona winrate that tanked to 30% a 75% Xayah that tanks to 43% I need to easy champs cuz if I play one too much it get trash at them xD

Depends really, what one player finds easy, other players find hard, it's subjective.

There's a saying: practice makes perfect.

You play the champ you're new to, and in the beginning you'll probably do badly because the champ's mechanics are very new to you and you're not use to it yet. Then after some games you get the hang of it and become better and better.

Champions aren't hard to play since you'll learn. But what can be hard is to pull out a trick that can be carried by that champ. Say Vel'Koz. I main that squid and he's easy to play and fun. But what's hard to do with him is Q at an angle then R. You can't recast your Q during an ulti so it's forced to split at its max range, and pull it off, you have to be at a specific distance and to make sure that the Q is casted at a correct angle that it will hit the target while ulti so you can proc the passive.

I tried Riven before and she isn't difficult to play really but Idk what tricks she has. I also tried Yasuo and what's often hard to do is to use your E to wall jump using the jungle monsters especially when you're trying to escape.

Anyway, mastering a champion is when you know the champion from A to Z. You know the weaknesses and strength, if the champ can tank this much damage or not even if squishee (I was banned many times that I didn't even have to use barrier or flash cuz I knew the damage aren't enough to kill Vel'Koz), and yes, arguably some combos but that depends on the champ really.

Riven Really easy to pick up and do well with as since animation canceling isn't the most difficult thing in the world. It's when you hit the point of "at which point to I use x combo over y combo" that she begins to show more of her power. Basically she's low skill floor, high skill ceiling.

so many trah jayce throw when fed i see it 247 hes like elise and nid [but easier] except he has no real escape like nid and no cc like elise except a knockback or shitty speed boost knockbacks in 2020 lul every champ has dash now or cc.

Ezreal is easy to play, but hard to master. His kit is pretty easy to pick up, but to perform well with him takes a lot of practice. Mostly because 3 of his abilities are skill shots and his damage comes from his skillshots.

Velkoz ditto. He has mostly skillshots and is practically safe during laning phase, however his main source of damage is hist passive. Therefore you need to proc it as much as you can. If you want your ult to hit really hard, then you need to proc his passive before it (so he deals true damage). He doesn't rely on magic pen, but it is fairly difficult to play him at his full potential.

Pantheon has an easy, well rounded kit, but using his ultimate at its full potential is difficult. Not to mention knowing when to use which ability takes practice.

Brand similar to Velkoz, he has a nice kit for laning, however his main source of damage is his passive, which needs a full rotation of his spells. He can nuke with them if he pulls it off correctly.

Morgana is also easy to play, but the higher elo you are in, the harder it is to hit her Q. Same is true for Lux .

I could also say that all enchanters are easy to play if you play passively, but if you are to take an active role, then it becomes more difficult.

There are some champions, who are easy to start with, but performing well with them and being able to be impactful with them is the actual difficulty. Ivern doesn't have any hard to pull off mechanic in his kit, but playing him in jungle is a totally different experience and requires different approach.

And so the list goes on.
