So dear riot let me get it correct, you want to nerf mage's mana pool, while still having them next to no way to regen mana ( most immobile mages cant afford to go precision, manaflow band gives a flat amount of mana and a negligible mana regen) while adc (who have as their main source of damage their aa, even caster based adc's can use their aa which are still going to hurt) have access to essence reaver.

Are you kidding me? No mages shouldnt rely on blue to regen mana or drake. Both of them are unreliable/not always available. No other role has to rely on a buff or a drake in order to function. And not only that, you even want to change doran's ring. Like how and why?

Besides all these changes are just going to make manaless champ even more powerful against mana based mages. Why can they spam their abilities 24/7 but mages cant even respond to their constant push? Like why do you want to reward such a stupid game design?

I'm not seeing how the doran's ring change is bad though Right now, it's 4 mana per last hit. there's 6 minions per wave, they spawn once every 30 seconds (7 on a cannon wave which happens every so often). so every 30 seconds, you last hit perfectly all 6 (emphasis on perfectly, I personally miss a few from time to time), and you get 24 mana from doing that. 27 on a cannon wave.

New doran's ring is 5 mana per 5 seconds. which is also 30 mana per 30 seconds. is 24 more than 30 now?

And this isn't a unique passive like the current one is. You can stack'em for more mana. Also you're not conditioned to last hitting so even being zoned (or being bad like I am at hitting) doesn't hurt you. Also they're giving doran's ring the +5 on-hit that everymage has been asking for for a while (ever since they took out the global +5 damage) so it's easier to last hit under tower.

I guess the old one did give +50% base mana regen, which would mean to balance out you would need like a base mana regen of like 10 to have the %mana regen beat the 5 mana flat (and afaik, most everyone has a base mana regen of like 2-3 at level 1).

This issue is being made bigger than it really is, Riot made a mistake understating the power mages will get in the early game, which I think where players currently tend to have the biggest frustration. After that players usually solve this issue with items.

I don't see anything that significant besides the smaller base mana pool at later levels, but items seem mostly the same. They called Dorans ring losing power, but it just doesn't look like it to me, sure it will scale weaker as a game will go on, but it really looks more powerful early, that coupled with a bigger early mana pool.

I just don't understand the changes. Like WHY are you doing this?

I think the issue currently is that Tear is built too much over GLP and Ludens but that's only because they DONT OFFER ANY FUCKING MANA REFUND.

Like seriously, if you gave Ludens/GLP more raw AP, utility or some form of mana refund (and didn't make it into a rune) they'd be fine items. The current PBE changes are wholly UNEEDED.
