If I play a mechanically difficult champ, will my game play on others become worse?

Ok, so I have always wanted to have Nidalee in my champion collection, but I always fear that if I learn how to play her, I will become worse on my other champions. I heard rumors that "true" Lee Sin players are "One Trick" because his mechanical difficulty. I tried playing him for a week, and ended up having trouble getting back to my into my normal champions.

I main (Jungle) Bruisers and Fighters like Xin Zhao, Jax, and need to learn more CC orientated champs like Graves and Nidalee to balance/round out my team going into competitions. They (Nidalee, Lee Sin, Kindred, Ivern, etc.) are squishy and some require knowledge of ranged attacks, so they are a challange in that aspect, but if they are mechanically difficult and require me to "one trick" them, I don't I should try and learn them at the cost of my current champ collection.

I own Nidalee, and have tried learning her a year ago, and had slight success. I was still getting the hang of the jungle. I practiced her a little more earlier this week because I need to have CC, not tank if my top/sup go tank. I struggle Graves, and can play Nidalee better than him, but should I really commit to her, or are there better champs for what I am looking for?

When you learn more math, does your science get worse?

champions with more unique playstyles will skew your perspective on certain situations based on how little you play other champions. if you play a champ that is able to 1shot people in most situations, then if you aren't careful you might get it into your head that "in most situations, i can 1 shot people" and this will linger when you switch to champions that can't, meaning you might make a few mistakes until you get the idea out of your head.

None of this happens if you play a wider variety of champions with less single champion game streaks though

No it doesn’t at all imo, mechanics are easy af to pull off, if your problem is anything it’s probably you’re more accustomed to a certain champ over another since they are all different.

Mechanically hard champions are NOT worth getting into unless you are a one trick or you're in very high elo.

I'm a Karthus one trick, and while he isn't particularly flashy, you need tons and tons of practice with his Q. I don't recommend him to anyone that doesn't want to one trick him because it's just not worth the hassle. Every single Karthus you'll see mains him or is just troll picking and feeding 100%.

Also..you said you wanted to learn more cc oriented champions. Man...nidalee and graves are NOT what you're looking for. Those are early duelists.

If you want CC oriented champions you can try Skarner, Amumu, Sejuani. Jax and Xin have decent CC as well.

Mechanics tend to bleed over into other champions. That's why Lee players tend to have good mechanics on every single champion they touch. They just might not make the best decisions in lane.
