Remake using up autofill protect

So this is my 4th time in the last few days where I have been in a game as mid which I got as my autofill was protected. Upon the remake i queued up again to find that my autofill was no longer protected after being in a remade game. Does anyone else keep getting this? Would it not make sense to punish the player with an autofill protection loss and allow those who were playing the game to keep there protection for an actual whole game?
