Dear Riot Designers, Thank You for Poppy

Riot, you have created a champion I truly love, enjoy, and fits my play style perfectly in Poppy. As someone who tremendously enjoyed the old Poppy, (enough to wait patiently to purchase every one of her skins as they over time came out in legacy sales) I believe you guys nailed it. The synergies in her kit and with items are incredibly well thought out and her personality is exactly what I hoped for. When I saw the rework announcement, I got excited. When I read the comic and saw on page 5 my name was used as onomatopoeia, I knew it was destiny. When she finally came out and I played her for several games, I had the most fun I have had playing League of Legends in a loooooong time. Naturally, because I have been stomping with her, I was concerned that she may have been over tuned and checked her win rate over the past week. I was surprised to see that it was 41.5% across the divisions in ranked solo queue. This is where I ask you, oh might Riot designers, to not buff Poppy. I don't believe she needs it, and I would rather play niche but balanced Poppy than cry that I can't play permabanned and overpowered Poppy.

The hero is strong enough! Poppy item 3133

There are some tweaks and bugs that need to be taken care of. Other than that she's epic <3 Being able to use item 3022 to it's full duration while ranged is awesome <3

I think a winrate of 41.5% means that she should definitely be looked at for the possibility of buffs. Granted, it has only been a week or so, so people are still figuring her out.

Poppy is more terrible than she was before.

I agree, I really love this rework. The kit suits her so much better than the toxic old ult and everything else nerfed to hell around it. And the visuals are amazing too (the only thing I would change is to give the Noxus and Scarlet skins different colored particles, the gold seems out of place there).

And mobility creep finally has counterplay!

38% winrate. Worse than release Bard

Of course she's better now overall, anything is better than that psychotic midget chasing people down and bludgeoning them to death

I haven't won a single game with Poppy since I started playing with her, but dear god is she fun. Sending a fed carry flying halfway across the map from a teamfight is an almost orgasmic experience.

I wished I shared the same mind as you. As a pre-rework Poppy player, I'm having trouble getting behind this rework. Sure I can win lane with her now, but transitioning to the later parts of the game feels awkward now that I can't just YOLO 1v4 and live. Is she supposed to protect carries with W and disengaged fights with ult or try and flank to get a wall-stun / make the fight more favorable with the ultimate? I just dunno man.

Yeah I'm absolutely in love with Poppy. The only complaint I have is how clunky her passive can be and how easy it can be to cancel the auto attack. Anyone else feel any clunkiness when trying to E someone with passive up?

I admit I have't played Poppy, but I will say the skin artwork looks amazing across the board, I think the artists did a great job with this one.

I like her because you can't just stomp with her unless the enemy lets you, yet you have enough utility to actually do something.

She also has a lot better of a skill curve. Getting those perfect W's and ults could change games.

They should increase her ad ratios a bit, otherwise, she's fine.

I really do love Poppy too. Her personality, her kit (her ult is the most satisfying thing when you land a max-range execute with it; you just watch all the minions go flying, and then, BAM!), her visuals, her lore, everything. :P

She's quickly becoming one of my favorite champs, and I've had success with her in every role but ADC (though I haven't tried it, but I don't plan to), and she fits my playstyle really well; she punishes mistakes the enemy makes, and she just all-ins your face and rams you into a wall then beats your face in. :P

As for balance, I'm actually surprised; Riot introduces a new champion that's actually hard to pull off properly, and only does damage if you do everything perfect -- she's a high skillcap champion now, instead of a braindead one like old Poppy. She's kind of like Azir, who also has a really low win rate, though I think she's harder to pull off. I had a lot of trouble at first as I experimented with builds and all that, but now that I've gotten used to her kit and have a build that works for me, I'm doing pretty well! My second ever penta was with new Poppy (first was with new Fiora, so I don't think it really counts), and it just felt super satisfying, since I knew that most people can't play Poppy, so I actually did something good (unlike with Fiora, who anyone can play).

All in all, I love the new Poppy, and she's one of my new mains. :P

Two great champion releases in a row, Riot! Keep it up! Illaoi was great too. ^^

Poppy was one of my first unlocks when I started playing League, and I am excited to be able to play her new form. I've been having good luck with her so far, but I'm worried about nerfs happening. Her shielding passive has been really useful for me in lane trades, deflecting minion retaliation and even tower hits. Maybe it's different if people go out of their way to step on my buckler, because people don't seem to do that a lot. %HP Q pops plus that shield have given me pretty sturdy laning so far.

Poppy need a huge nerf. Let be honest, you don't care about poppy, you only care because she so OP right now. Her ultimate is game-breaking. Her damage is insane and she get to be a tank. Off-tank should not be able to tank like a tank. Poppy will get a huge nerf. Horrible re-work on poppy.

EXACTLY THEY CREATED A NEW CHAMPION AND SLAPPED THE NAME POPPY ON IT AND DELETED THE OLD CHAMPION. WHY GOD WHY

Catastrop12/12/2015, 7:57:49 PM1 votes

Oooh, I didn't realize that item 3133 belonged to Poppy until you pointed it out. This is like when I realized Sejuani was wearing item 3191.

Monkey D Luffy12/12/2015, 12:48:10 PM1 votes

She's a bit too tanky as it stands.
