6.9 Item changes

So i went and viewed the 6.9 changes to mage items and i wanted to vomit. It would not let me post on that page but I dont agree with the changes. Basically a lot of mage items are losing AP and or mana regen and are becoming "Utility" items. I mean the last time they did this mage item rework we lost a decent amount of AP and now we are losing even more AP. I might as well build my mage champions AD now. I mean seriously? Zhonya's lost 30 AP, Abyssal Scepter 10 AP, Rod of Ages 20 AP, Athene's Unholy Grail 20 AP.

I see nothing positive in the changes, mages are going to suffer damage losses again across the board. Are we getting new items to compensate with high AP? As far as i can tell NO. Oh and they butchered Morellonomicon, yes it was a close item to Unholy grail but it gave us an item for mages that play aggressively like Ahri something she could use to combat her awful mana hog abilities. Now what is she going to build? She is a poke champion she lost her bursting when death fires was removed. Now we are going to take away her ability to continually poke too?

Yes they gave Morellonomicon 400 flat mana whoop de doo. Iv played MMOs for 15years flat vs regen, regen is always better. 400 extra mana what lets her cast 4 more abilities before she has to recall because she cant regen her mana. Instead of being able to stay in lane with some mana regen. Horrible trade off.

I see Hextech gun blade becoming a main item now because we will need the 40 AD it has to Auto attack enemy champions to death since our abilities are not going to be strong enough to finish them off.

I mean seriously RIOT are you trying to ruin the entire mage class in the game? I better see pretty awesome 100+AP items come along with this change or im done with mages. I will just go play AD champions instead. end rant

RoA has exactly the same AP, it's losing some of the base health and mana in exchange for a better cost and easier rush (basically you get more out of it more quickly, but not as much late game)

Zhonya's needed this change. when it has a good price and good stats it is hands down the strongest item in the game. Now it actually has a niche as a rush defensive item without being broken on the stat line. It's better tailored to its niche.

Abyssal lost 10 AP in exchange for 10% CDR and a stronger late game aura. Unless you're rushing this first item every game, you're not losing anything.

Athene's is now targeted at supportive mages, and the loss of AP sucks but the shield passive makes up for it for the intended users.

They're also about to flood the game with several new damaging item actives that have solid AP scalings. Overall there's gonna be a net damage change of about nil, just a change in gameplay style.
