Rank question from a 5+ year League player

I enjoy league, but I can't cut out 20+ hours a week to play often. I play maybe 2-4 games a week, sometimes 6-8 if I'm lucky. Over the course of the last 2 years, I've been actively getting better, playing less champs, focusing on my favorites, etc. The last 2 seasons, I have been promoted to Silver, and ALMOST to Gold, before the ladder resets, and I get kicked back to Bronze 4. I would move up from Bronze 4, to Silver 2/Silver 1, only get get shuffled back down to Bronze 4 after the ladder resets. This has happened over and over since Season 4. Three seasons I have spent in Silver, making my way to gold, only to just be reset... So my question is this. Am I not playing enough to actually climb? Am I doomed to stay Bronze forever? I get promoted out of Bronze within my first 40 games usually. It's not hard to climb out of bronze. I just get annoyed having to do it every season.

There isn't anything you can do especially if you can't hard carry every game. Even with winning 2-3 then losing 1, It just takes time to climb and since you keep getting bumped back down to bronze then you'll never really have the time to reach anything high.

I am in this exact same situation, actually. It's very demoralizing to be reset to bronze and have to claw my way out again when I don't have 20-30+ hours per week to devote to ladder climbing through all of the quitters, feeders, troll-pickers, and players who refuse to play assigned role. Obviously, though, RIOT wants to promote playing 30+ hours per week since it's good for business, so I wouldn't expect them to have any compassion for those of us with less time to allocate any time soon.

You can't really expect to be good at something if you arn't gifted or putting in the time to improve..

its not just for you, i think everyone is like that

i think silver=start at bronze, gold=start at silver, plat= start at gold ect ect

yeah it does sucks and is annoying, like you I also had to climb from silver to gold, almost every season I play.

I honestly think its because riot wants to start you out at your worst lol , in their defense I do play like bronze 5 sometimes XD

or most likely has something to do with $ or boosting

If you have around high silver mmr you shouldnt be going all the way to bronze 4 unless you lose every single promo

Yeah i havent a clue what is up with promos..... But I get out of bronze and climb up silver every so often. I do not do ranked really at all and yet I still am in S3 atm. Might i ask if you mix in some normal games too? Chances are with how many games you do a day you could climb up and out of Silver easily if you did only ranked. I do mostly normals but i do Duo and me and my ADC friend won like 5-6 games in a row and i was bumped from S5 to S3 lol

I used to just deal with it since I played this game so much. But now I would like to start focusing on other things which making climbing through ranks I have already climbed through in multiple seasons really annoying. And I get like yea ranks drop... but I dropped 8 divisions from last season. Which is a huge reason quit for almost 3 months this year. I could see dropping maybe 4-5 divisions but when I dropped 8 it was just too much. Especially since rank resets lead to large skill variance games which makes the climb extra annoying.
