A champ that you can't poke out of lane and you can't hard engage upon is just unfair. If you're playing something that can't match his all-in and he's not bad, he has auto-won the lane. You won't be able to poke him out, and if he plays it right, you should never kill him even if he gets caught. He can just run around fishing for hooks or his dash stun all lane without a care in the world. Doesn't even need to worry about the poke or the chances that him dashing in will kill him. He gotta lose something.

This entire champion is a mistake. All because the 80million mid laners complained they get auto filled because there are 80 million of them and they “don’t own” any supports.

Pyke is a support, who's actually an assassin, who is actually a tank who gets more gold than anybody else.

I hate playing against Pyke. But I like playing as Pyke.

I agree that his passive HP regeneration is too busted right now and needs a big nerf.

I also think his R's gold generation is too OP right now and also needs a big nerf.

Other than that, I actually think his playstyle is actually fine. If he loses some of his HP regen and Riot balances his gold generation with his ult, he can be in a pretty good spot.

His Q is telegraphed, like thresh's Q, so if you see him charging it up, just be ready to avoid it. Also he's slowed by 20% during that time, so it can be easily punished.

His W has a sound indicator when he's near you, so you're not completely unaware of him. Also you can reveal him by stepping in near him or using item 2055 .

His E has a 1 sec delay, so if you're fast enough, you can escape it. It's only 100 unit thick.

His R is a pain in the ass, I'm not gonna sugar coat it, tbh. I hate playing against it xD Although, there is, indeed, a 0.75 sec delay before he lands on you, so technically if you have good reflexes you can dodge it?! But meh... I still hate facing it :p

Pyke being released is a prime example of riot's lack of vision and leadership as well as their abandonment of counterplay. While I don't fault them for trying nonmeta designs, I do fault them on pyke's execution.

Just play a lock down support like blitz, naut, thresh, ect, or just learn to dodge his hooks since it's usually a Q+E combo that'll screw you. He's not too hard to counter if you just play smart and don't try to pick nami or soraka into him. Also pyke is a "I go in and if I don't kill, I'll wait to do it again" champ, kinda like riven, yas, and jax, except he doesn't go conqueror. As for the "dash in without a care in the world" that's a pretty false statement, any pyke knows never to dash into anyone unless they're near execute range, plus people actually asked for something other than tanks and healers in bot. People wanted bot to be more dangerous and make you realize your error when it happens, pyke doesn't have to lose anything, you just gotta learn to adapt or buy a grevious wounds item since it "reduces health regeneration" meaning it applies the reduction to the dark health, so instead of 25% to 70%, it becomes 25% to 40% (give or take level)

The thing that bothers me the most about all this is everyone complaining about Pyke 'regenerating and being unable to be poked out of lane'. It's the whole point of Pyke. Sustain the poke damage that is heavy in the current meta (brand, zyra, etc) and regenerate without issues. If you want to win vs Pyke, play zilean. He's legit unable to do anything and you can poke his adc down with bombs while spamming CTRL 4 because he can't heal his adc. Like for real if you're going to try to poke down a guy with free built in sustain, you're dumb.

It's like saying hey Vladimir is OP because I can't poke him out of lane. No shit bro, it's his design and key characteristic. I know Pyke is annoying af to play against, but he's honestly so easy to counter. Just pick zilean, R when he jumps in the air, enjoy free win.
