Real question how do you counter riven?

Every game i keep having to face some asshole who picks riven and ONLY plays riven and every game i loose to her no matter what i build The problem is i cant get near minions to cs because riven will just delete me getting a kill and cs And no riven is not at all squishy she can stun you and shield herself with (AD scaled shield) while dishing out so much damage, and her ult is so ridiculous it gives her a buff and if she almost kills you and you barely get away using flash well sucks to be YOU because her ult can activate a second time to fucking finish you off even if you have like 400 health left because remember she scales with AD... ive honestly never seen something so disgusting it gives me a headache playing league of legends and i had to Afk because i didn't want to loose my cool over a game but i now recieved a 20 min leaverbuster. I just wish riot would give her a proper kit so that the Freelo riven mains can pick different top laners

Well the real question is who are you playing into her? I would start by looking into playing her yourself and seeing what some of the biggest threats are to her, and then maybe looking into playing some of her known counters.

I kept getting my ass kicked by Darius as Nautilus so I picked up Darius and then every time I see a Darius now, I pick Illaoi

If Riven just gives you that much of a headache, or tilts you this much, you have the choice of NEVER playing against a Riven for the rest of your life. I feel convenience bans are more important than meta bans if they tilt you this hard. Cho Gath is KNOWN to be broken so expect the enemy to ban him, or pick him up yourself. Well, I had just made a post about this.

As a Riven main myself:

If she's at level 1-2 she will not bother trading with you unless you're fighting a bad Riven. Oh, you're fighting a bad Riven? Then you will win. Step 1 is moot. Around level 3, her high CD will prevent better trades if you just walk away. When she is on CD, rush her and counter the trade and you will have won.

Flash won't save you from a turret diving Riven and if you think it will, that's why you'll lose. If you're at around 50% life or if you're 100% but a squishy champion, she's going to ult you and you will die if she can land her combo. She won't even ult at the start, she'll often do it after a spell-cast such as Ki Burst or with her E. If she's running toward you, run the hell away.

Takes about two kills or 4-5 waves of minions for her to buy all early items. I know this because I've been in both scenarios.

Actually to counter Riven, you'll need sustain and mobility. You'll also need skill. Champs that counter Riven are and .

Riven at early game can struggle against ganks too, but her CDs must be up and you must be able to immobilize her to effectively kill her.

She is not hard to counter if you're a competent player, but Riven is a hard champion to lane against but only if it's a competent Riven you're fighting. Even top-tier Riven mains like Boxbox and AP Riven lose games because they get countered.

Ranged champions do poorly as well because if a riven picks flash she will flash into you stun you then knock you up with her Q or just shield herself if you managed to escape or shell just ult you and boom you're dead

It looks like you play Juggernauts. While champions like Sion and Darius actually have a natural advantage over Riven in lane, they're still slow. Riven can use Q and E to quickly damage you and gtfo before you have a chance to retaliate- if you're not familiar with her.

Save your abilities. If you're farming using your abilities stop it immediately. If I see a Darius farming with Q I know I can immedaitely go in on him after and win a trade. Riven wants to go in with a Q combo and get out as fast as possible. But she loses extended trades so always try to pull her back into the fight after she uses her Q combo- as Darius that means using E to drag her ass back in and keep stacking those bleeds.
Know when to punish her. Rivens tend to be trigger happy with Q. You can feint like you're going in and make her blow her first Q. That means she has to use the second and third Qs right after or it goes on CD. This gives you an opportunity to punish her for it by going in on her or making her back off. Q is her main and arguably her only real damage source - learn how to play around it.
Build Armor early. Just do it. Especially when your champion has built in sustain. You'll thank me later The only thing worse for Riven than a tanky champion with early armor for her is a range.

You forgot to say she has 4 Dashes and no energy Sorry man cant beat broken Watch all the riven mains down vote.
