What with this Azir nerfs Rito? What did my almighty Hawk emperor did to deserve this?

If you had seen any of the recent MSI tournament you would have seen Azir used in almost every game. His damage, range, team fighting and ability to split a fight massively in favour of his team has him at the top of the list. I don't think Orianna was used at all. Naturally this points to one thing - must balance around LCS / tournament / pros.

As always happens it's the general game population that deals with it most but the top 1% are the ones that cause the biggest changes. In this case though I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that Azir needed some nerfs.

The Emperor's Divide duration nerf seems on point (though a bit heavy-handed) to me.

Azir has a tremendous damage on teamfights, and good poke. Cutting a chunk from his safety seems reasonable.

I think necessary but overnerf.Especially Stinger and wall duration nerf.

But why wasn't nerfed Orianna?

High skill champion and same win rate.

Maybe because hes broken? He is absolute aids to play against, and is overbearing at all stages of the game. 100% DESERVED nerfs, and he should honestly get more.
