99 LP

This has been an annoyance for most people in ranked and is a very frustrating experience. A simple solution to the problem is that however many LP you gain, it roll's over if you are successful in your series.

For example, I have 99 lP and win 23 LP, but since you only need 1 LP, you go straight to your series. If you pass your series, instead of starting with 0 LP, have 22 lP from your normal ranked win rollover (or convert it since a bronze 4 win isn't = to a bronze 5 win i suppose) so that one 40 minute game won't be worth 1 LP.

I don't know if the same logic will be applicable if you lose a series

I hope yall see where I'm getting at, thx for reading.

You should just overload your current tiers lp. So if you are at 99lp gain 23 you would be at 122 lp then if you don't pass your promos instead of subtracting from 100 lp it subtracts from 122. Making it over game easier to get back into your promos.

My idea would be: if over half of your LP gain would be wasted when going into a series, start off with 1 win in the series. Otherwise, you need to win 3/4 games to get up a tier (2/3 plus the win to put you into the series). The system is kinda bs right now, but it is what it is and everyone uses the same system. Climbing is possible.

Made a topic like this a few months ago, ended up @ -2. Once again, great community.

yeah, promo's in general are toxic to ranked. especially when it comes to 99LP scenario's. Now instead of 2/3 wins to rank up, it suddenly has become 3/4 wins. 75% win rate to climb is unreasonable considering you can't even dodge in promo's due to trolls or simply a bad team comp. part of being good at this game is having knowledge of good team comps. time penalties are fine and keep people from abusing dodges, but instant loses punish people for getting trolled.

With that logic, ppl should be dropping division tiers if they lose a game with 0LP.

Having to redo promos cause of 1 unlucky game is not fun.

Think of the excess LP like an invisible buffer. (even though it's ultimately meaningless as your elo is the only thing that actually matters)

+1 thought this was going to be another one of those stupid threads about going straight into promos from 99lp

You know that "free win" when you start your series.... yeah, your just paying for that. 99 LP = Free win

By the same logic, if you have 1 LP and lose a game, you'll be demoted instantly and start at 76 LP.

You can't have surplus add up but excess loss forgiven, have to be consistent.

P/s: If you're not familiar how it works, currently, if you lose a game at 1 LP, you go to zero and can have one last game before demoted.

If you agree with having LP in excess of 100 to cushion your promo losses, then you should also agree with having negative LP in excess of 0 to prevent your climb back up. If you do not, you're just asking for free handouts and should be ignored.

this is called mmr, and you have it, it determines how much LP you win/lose, so if your constantly getting 99LP and then winning, your MMR goes up

you just dont see it
