Why is an 0-3 placement player placed in a silver game?

A viegar who ended 3-15 (0 kills in lane ofc) and didn't even buy boots by minute 35 was placed in my silver game. His other 2 games were Olaf jungles, again where he never bought boots and built attack speed Olaf. If he is 0-3 wouldn't that seem to suggest he needs to prove he is capable of winning in a bronze game first (pretty sure he'd lose there too)?

It just completely threw the game to the enemy team, which happens with people actually in silver/gold/diamond/etc. but why throw losing placement players where they don't belong, where it's near guaranteed they'll do awful?

Because Silver represents the average player. Until he does all 10 matches the game associates him with being average and competing against the average player is the best way to find out if he's above or below that level

Typically your first placement game is against players that are presumably better than the average (Low Gold).

Then the player if they win their first game the system adapts and picks tougher competition, if they lose they face weaker competition.

But in game two the weaker competition still might be "better" than the player.

The player for placements needs to actively demonstrate they are poor in multiple placement games in order to place in lower tiers.

I think I went 6-4 in my placements this season on my main account and got placed in Bronze 1 after getting to Gold V this season. I lost my first 2 or 3 placement games and wont the next several. I had 2 afks in my games lol.

I climbed back to gold pretty easily, but because I lost my earlier games the system thought I was a "pretty poor player" and gave me easier and easier opponents.

I won like 2 placements and got placed in bronze 1. I should've been bronze 5

i just got demoted from G5 to S2 because i had two matches in a row with a 4 queue that consisted of two or more players as bronze 3 to bronze 1. The matchmaking is fucking broken and theres very little integrity with the matches anyways.

placement is completely garbage this season, new playrr losing games barely loses mmr and easily end up in silver even with tons of loses in placement.

I have seem a 1win 9 loss player got silver 5.
