Patch 5.22

Many people see patch 5.22 as "unbalanced" or "op" and I totally agree. I believe Riot's mistake was that this gigantic patch came too early and sudden, which Riot alone couldn't calculate everything that would happen. Patch 5.22 should have been seperated into several patches, making improvisions along the way so players could adapt easier. I hope Riot realizes this and it doesn't happen again. However, instead of constantly complaining, we should help by contributing ideas on how to balance this game. For example, instead of complaining about graves being broken, we could suggest ways to make him balanced.

From what I've heard around, Riot's intent wasn't to release a completely balanced patch. Part of the preseason is throwing a bunch of new stuff out and seeing what is weak and what is strong. It's one of the reasons this happens after ranked is over. So yes, everything is terribly unbalanced right now, but it was necessary so we could have a change to LoL and more balanced gameplay in a patch or two. So no worries, it will adjust in time. And why not put out the changes over a number of patches? They would need to continually rebalance each part of the game which would be a lot more confusing and aggravating than what is happening right now.

Riot doesnt even listen to our feedback. I'm done suggesting /saying anything, they still push retarded shit to live servers. PBE is only for skin broadcasting. This game went downhill and its sad. The game looks great , and its sad that its driven by a retarded company

One of few actually good criticisms here. Although i find it better to take everything they can give us now and find all the mistakes asap instead of having to do this for a couple of months. Also i dont think they have the time, new season has to lunch eventually.

...we did.

And while they balance it, they should roll it back! Also fun - my comment along these very lines (polite and with reasons) was removed from the boards. Wonder if this one gets posted.

Is this not the purpose of preseason??

I actually kind of like it, because having all of these changes at the same time basically throws the current meta out the window. There is so much room for experimentation, you can put practically any champ in any position with any build and try it out, and it may actually be super effective (or, you know... it may not). But the possibilities are endless.

That being said, I do agree right now that Graves, Tryndamere, and Yasuo are kinda broken op right now. I don't know how Graves could be fixed, but I'm sure someone smarter than me will come up with a suggestion.

What big changes were made?

  1. ADC reworks
  2. AD items
  3. Item rebalancing
  4. Tower changes
  5. Mana potion removal
  6. Mana compensation
  7. Trinket changes
  8. Stealth ward removal
  9. Jungle items
  10. Support items/sightstone
  11. Masteries

Is that it so far? Soon 12) Minion changes

1,2 and 3 had to come at the same time 5 and 6 had to come at the same time 7 and 8 had to come at the same time. Given that 10 is a vision change it makes sense to put this out at the same time too. 9 11 4 12

If Riot did as you suggest, that would be 7 patches with major changes in a row. That equates to several months of an unbalanced game.

I dunno. I would want all of that to be done at once. This way we get probably just one month (=2 patches) before everything gets pushed back in line. Furthermore, this way I only need to relearn things once.

Couldn't expect this going well when one of the biggest patch in LoL history has been tested for 2 weeks only

Riot should polish there game first before deciding any drastic changes. They have so many issues as it is and they just developed more.

You know there are gonna be issues when the patch is so big, it slows your computer down to almost a crawl while it's installing .__.

Preseason is to short to separate something like this into multiple patches. I like that they released all changes at once to introduce some chaos into the game. I'm tired of games lasting an hour.
