Why cant I type to my friends after I accept a queue?

Its annoying when im in a convo with someone and the queue pops over and over and over and over and someone doesn't accept and i can't at the very least chat.

Yeah yeah yeah "bro its like 10 seconds relax" sometimes that shit lasts a minute and im impatient .
