Can we address this assassin mid meta?

I certainly am not one for strictly following the meta, but I do understand team comp. I see a place for assassins in team comps, and have no problem with them persay. But when someone picks an ad assassin mid, it shoves the responsibility of balancing ad/ap team comp onto the top laner. Fair enough, there are ap options for top.

But your forgetting that top lane has a counterpick mini-meta that is so much more impactful (on laning) than other lanes counterpicks.

So it's already putting your team at a disadvantage, either limiting your tops choices or champ pool, or giving him a disadvantage through being counterpicked, or by allowing your team to build a single resistance to counter your entire team.

Or is the snowballing just so strong that this doesn't matter, and all that matters is getting the high kda that comes with being an assassin? How do you guys deal with adjusting for team comp? There's a lot of factors here, I get that, I'm just wondering what your guys thoughts are on the matter.
