Hi, everyone on the boards. I played my first ever rank placement today, and I was pretty shocked by the matchmaking. So I was fairly alarmed when all the players on my team in the loading screen had gold borders around them, as I did not think I should be getting matched with these, in comparison to me, higher level skill players. I ended up going 2/6/6 and searched my opponent later on OP.GG and he was Gold 5. Is it normal to get matched with Gold Players in my first placement game? Thanks, ZyKr0w

on my first provisional game i got a diamond 2 as an opponent for some reason.. ^_^ and my team was silvers and bronzes

yes it's very normal because it has no idea what rank you are. by good 2/6 it now knows that you are not capable of being gold.
