All my mains are completely out of meta

When you play ranked you usually want to pick the best option in your roster, considering the fact that your skill>champion balance state. But how does it feel when your roster has ONLY low tier/no-meta champ? The point of my thread is that you can't just say "play another champ" because i'm talking about your strongest roster, your mains, your favourite champions. I play as a midlaner and my top3 tier is Kassadin, Swain and Jayce.
The first one is sitting at 45/46% winrate since a year. Nobody plays him anymore, and even considering him as a counterpick others generalist midlaner perform a way better. Swain had a perfect 50% winrate when "cause DFT" has been gutted in his most important spell, without any compensation like fixing his damn autoatk animation. Fortunately Jayce is scheduled for some buff next patch and maybe i will see some light. I know that i could just play for fun and pick what i like even if not viable but, please, look facts in a competitive point of view: what community would do if suddendly champs like zed/ahri/lux (most picked and winrate midlaners) would have been gutted with the excuse that are now become "high skill champ"? how do you feel if your mains (and i mean all) became not-viable but you want to keep playing ranked/competitive? personally, i feel handicapped like i have to play ranked in hardcore mode just because i can't change my tastes.

I found new mains when this happened to me, then again when it happened again, and the third time I learned one more champ before I said fk it and just kept playing my mains.

Then like someone told me, you are screwed.

honestly I got to say some things about what you said

Yes sometimes patches screw you over, but a good player should be able to adapt, a easy going player should also be able to find new champions that resemble his favorite picks, and just play those in a ranked game untill his favorite champions receive favorable buffs

Ranked is a serious place, and it should be treated like a business, because rank honestly offers a economic future once you start climbing. I am not just talking about lcs, I am talking about streaming, youtube, and the lower division tonry scene. These opportunities are presented to you once you start to climb, so ranked should be treated in a professional matter.

How does this relate to your topic? Easy.

We all have mains that we perform the best on, however when nerfs happen we are given two oppurtunities.

Adapt to said changes with said champions OR Find a new champion that somewhat resembles our old mains play style

Frankly I do not understand why some players refuse to do this, so many just instantly give up when nerfs happen. If you are a good player unless the nerfs hard core nerfd you into oblivion you will find ways to still play your main and have a good win rate. However if the nerfs were to strong, then you should realize you have alternatives.

In your case

Swain Swain, yes her was nerfed to oblivion HOWEVER Lissandra Lissandra is a very good champion who fuffills a very simmiliar role as swaine, along with Morgana Both have AOE, decent cc, and a aoe ultimate. You could easily adapt to these champions and see the resemblances they have to swaine if you want to ranked

Kassadin Kassadin is honestly in a weird place in the meta where hes sorta good but not really, however what is nice about him is he is a mobile assassin who hops place to place with soft cc, picks that resemble him could be Leblanc Katarina Fizz All three of these champions very nimble who hop place to place to assasinate, just like kassadin

Now lastly Jayce Jayce is a very hard champion to play, he is a old favorite of mine, and yes he is hurting right now, however a very strong mid laner who resembles him would be Varus but if you want that transformation melle/range play style Nidalee Is a amazeing champion to learn and pick up

So in your case, yes your mains were nerfed very harshly, however you have alternatives who greatly resemble your mains and are very strong in the meta.

IMO Kass is pretty under rated.
