I was plat 5 s5 and got a new account, my normal mmr is challenger/master but after going 8-2 i was placed in bronze 2 and am currently gold5. I was g1 last week and am having some very negative teams and don't quite know why. I was 200-130 and am now 225-223... I really dont know what is going on but it seems like if i don't carry it is a for sure loss. I duo'd with a silver friend of mine and was told that that could be the problem. If anyone has any suggestions or answers I would really appreciate some advice on what lane to carry best in and what the issue could possibly be.

I was gold 5 about 3 weeks ago.. then one weekend I ended up getting on 8 teams with intentional feeders that dropped me from mid gold 5 to silver 3.. What's even more sad is the fact that riot punished these feeders, yet here I am in silver 4 almost 3 (I've had some bad games)..

I was Diamond 4 last season. Went 7-3 this season, was Placed Plat 2. Because you are NOWHERE near Master/Challenger Elo. Also, Normal MMR and Ranked MMR are two different ladders.

You are not a point of carrying games. You may win a lane but you are unable to transfer your personal skill into team fights. This is where your skill lacks. Finish games as soon as possible. Utilize your personal advantage in a lane into early turrets/team fights.

Doesn't harm your personal MMR. Game still judges you by the way you play. However, your silver Friend may bring Bronze boosted accounts into your games and this is where you'll start to suffer. Make sure he is capable, don't carry the dead weight.

Top. Absolutely. Too many players are unable to push early Turret or Utilize their Teleport correctly. If you want easy games. Have an excellent support and Top, the rest is GG.
