Rek'sai is a girl...ok, so?

CG SereN·11/27/2014, 8:57:35 AM·11 votes·33,067 views

Why are so many people making such a big deal about Rek'sai being female?

In what way does Rek'sai being female change anything if she was male?

She doesn't even have a distinguishing voice, hell if anything the voice is androgynous.

So please enlighten me, "Why do you care soo much that Rek'sai is a 'female monster'?"

People have been wanting a female monster champ for a long time. We've had Chogath Galio Hecarim Khazix KogMaw Maokai Malphite Nasus Nocturne Rammus Renekton Rengar Skarner Trundle Velkoz Warwick Xerath Zac

All male. Some of them are questionable on monster, but whatevs. The point is, that the fanbase has been asking for a female monster champ for a while. Rek'sai is that.

Cause clearly calling it a female when it has no features that would indicate that means that Riot has diversified its depiction of females in general.

Because some people give a crap about how females are represented. Until now, with the exception of Anivia, all female monsters have been half-naked attractive human women. We get anything under the sun passing for male, from strong to fragile, from masculine men to androgynous monsters, but if you're not an attractive human woman, you might as well not be a female at all. Nevermind the fact that females make up HALF of a population and are as varied as males are, no, you can't be female without big knockers or makeup or a young, attractive body and yet Riot pretends that that's the norm. Women have, for hundreds of years, since they were only seen as baby-making machines, trying to be seen for something other than how sexy they are. So there, that's what the big deal is.

Because people are obsessed with all this politically correctness and want to put it everywhere. They are changing languages, making a great scientist cry on TV, indoctrinating children in school about all this gender war they are creating.

They are not able to just see that this is a game, and all that matters is fun. They need to project real life problems over it in order to feel morally superior, unbiased beings that condemn whatever they think they should.

They look at a game as a description of society, without looking at the history of it or of the sector.

About Rek'sai, to me it's a "it". As it is malph, gnar, kha, and the rest. I woudn't care if every champ in the game was indian, mexican, chinese or latino, all that matters is that they game is fun.

Here is the thing, you have male monsters who are depicted in league quite a bit Chogath. Kog,maw. Gnar,

At the same time I think you could qualify aniva on the female side. Now if you look at the list of male characters, I would not say any of them are really targeted at any one sex. Then you look at the female characters, alot of there designs seem male targeted, There are exceptions but for the most part, lots of cleavage and skimpy outfits.

Rek'sai is an exception, she doesn't sound super feminine, she doesn't represent a sexulaized female form, she is just a female character that isn't just meant as eye candy that people have been wanting for a long time. What it comes down to is this is what alot of people have wanted and they got it, of course they are excited. She adds variety to the female character list that it is sorely missing.

It doesn't mean anything. I just use "she" when talking about it now instead of "he."

the problem is that void creatures are suppose to be genderless.

DQ Patron12/11/2014, 8:13:26 PM2 votes

Rek'Sai is a girl because she has a void vajayjay! And she is the Queen of the Xer'Sai so she makes a lot of babies from her huge void vajayjay. And we need a girl that comes from the void. I don't know why people want her to be a male so bad, we already have male void creatures and they are monsters so of course in their world Rek'Sai is seen as some sexy sultry hot momma who knows how to play with her food to seduce her man. Monsters can be female, and she wouldn't be a monster if we thought she was pretty (the void guy monsters do tho cuz she get's the Xer'Sai D all the time). Actually, I don't care if she's a male or a female, I care that some of you muthafuggahs can't read. When Riot released Rek'Sai they literally said "she" and "her" over 15 times and SHE literally have a move called Queen's Wrath a.k.a Rek'Sai has a void vag.

You reminded me of when Rek'sai was first released; someone drew a pink bikini on her and labelled it the upcoming 'Sek'sai Rek'sai' skin.

Her gender never really mattered; none of them do. It gives you something to know about the character and the fantasy of the game itself though.

It's just fun.

Edit: Eesh. an old one! I wonder why it was top.

chaotik9002/20/2018, 11:11:00 PM1 votes

Because she the best Meme ever. Like that her makes a hell of a difference. Think of all the dope skins you could have. For legendary you could have lady rek'sai. Like the opposite of gentlemen cho gath. Because it be fun and dope. Let's be honest digging as a monster girl is funny. Like for real. Think of it. Rek'sai with a posh woman voice. In a dress. That would funny, hell I would buy that skin, cause. I love uquie stuff.

she looks like a male :/ if you throw elise and nidalee human form away, they still look more reasonable to called female :/

Captain Aishi1/7/2015, 12:59:54 AM1 votes

riot once said it was a mistake for anivia to be female because she had no distinctively female features about her at first glance... then rek sai happens and we can trust riot when they say things to us...

Ritual3/15/2015, 8:39:20 AM1 votes

we need an ugly female character

Why are so many people making such a big deal about Rek'sai being female?

becuase its the first female champion that is not adwertised by D cups (full of justice)

riot's design philosophy was very limited in the past -women had breasts and very unpractical armour exposing them -men were buff -monsters were kinda humanoid or at least personalized -female monsters were a combination of a humanoid and D cups (full of justice)

rek sai breaks some of those rules by being a first realy monstrous monster in the league, she doesnt speak she has no tits she doesnt resemble a human, and all of it is her own unique trait

so for those who care about quality and diversity its a big deal she is a female and well its a proof that riot's design is evolwing

Squidblimp3/15/2015, 10:05:28 AM1 votes

Rek'Sai is female, so if someone says she is male, I will just simply correct them. I would do the same thing if someone called Cho'Gath female, I would correct them. That's all.

ABlueQuaker3/15/2015, 10:08:43 AM1 votes

It's because she has a) no humanoid qualities, b) she has no qualities that indicate that she's a female, AND c) there's not even any insight via VO that she's female.

MAYBE if it was a Hive/Nest type deal where she's actually a Queen with subjects and not an Alpha then it would make more sense.

Riot could have easily given her some sort of Bee/Ant quality to make reference to it.

We need a female body builder soooo big

warpenguin5555/2/2015, 1:58:05 AM1 votes

because rek'sai is sex'ai

Nilok5/2/2015, 2:14:04 AM1 votes

Honestly, it does seem a bit token on the outside. Only her bio says she is female, none of her in game assets depict her having a gender. All the other monster champions have a distinct gender in their voice except Rek'Sai. There is never the moment where you finally hear a slightly feminine but monstrous voice similar to Cho'Gath's and you go, "oh crap, that thing is a girl?". There is none of that, so from all outside views, it just seems tacked on and not related to the design of Rek'Sai.
