Rant: Why league feels so bad lately.

Change. Every patch brings change. Sometimes, your favorite champion gets nerfed. Sometimes your champion gets buffed. I don't think most league players have a problem with this, but what happens when your champion gets reworked? For the past few years, I've developed interest in several champions and played them until I simply couldn't anymore. First, it was Fiora, whose changes were for the better (for most people), but not for me. Her new riposte mechanic was something that made her unreliable for me and I could never get used to it. Fiora is now dead to me. So I switch to bot lane, start maining Kalista because she's fun. She gets completely gutted and destroyed (she's feeling pretty good right now tho, so thank rito jesus). Swap back over to mid, really loving the changes to Syndra with her 3 balls, okay now that's removed too. Oh, what's that, my go to one trick in mid, Katarina is getting a rework? I REALLY love the current version, play it almost every day, but the rework looks...promising? I promise to be good at this rework (unlike all the other champion reworks).

Sometimes, champions need to be reworked due to being broken beyond belief in either a strong or weak way (yorick, aatrox, urgot). Other times, a champion that might not be extremely popular, meta, or strong gets completely changed to appeal to the masses (Irelia). Why? There are 140+ champions! Not every champion needs to be reworked to appeal to more players! Sometimes we just want you to give our champ a little bit more damage here or there. It's ok to have niche champions that are extremely satisfying to small groups of people. In fact, this is exactly why league is becoming increasingly more dissatisfying. Pros get paid to adapt to metas, players get forced to accept large-scale changes to their champions that they would rather not have.

Let's be real, outside of challenger, the problem isn't only the meta. It wasn't just that ADC's were too strong, or top to weak. It's that, most likely, you've lost or had to relearn a champion that you once loved. A champion that got reworked. I'm willing to bet, most non-meta-slaves and one-tricks would be 100% happy with League and any meta as long as they have a champion they love to ride the meta out with. I'd gladly play 100 games of pre-rework Katarina in ardent meta, but you bet your ass I was playing adc and not touching her during that meta because of her rework.

I no longer feel like I'm playing the game to have fun. It feels like i'm playing to win. The only champs I really loved have been removed (Kat, Fiora). I feel like I'm playing league, because of the good memories I have, not because I enjoy the game. I've developed somewhat of a fear to main a champ because it might be reworked. This sounds a little dramatic, but it's not. I don't cry at night over this, but it does bother me every time I play the game.

P.S. I appreciate the LB revert, now hook up my girl kata Katarina . P.P.S This is definitely not about Aatrox rework. Let's be honest, that champion didn't exist until recent buffs, lol.

Kata's daggers just need to be quicker. Her W animation is way to long and i feel she would be a lot better. The issue is shes a "set up champion", in a meta that people 100-0 you instantly faster than a human can react. Plus everybody BY NOW SHOULD KNOW, avoid the dagger, you avoid 90% of her damage. So it's a bad combo for her to be stuck in.

I doubt they will ever revert her back to her faceroll status, but i would like to see some quality changes like her W dagger landing a little faster. Or her Q either one, getting some more range to throw it from, or 2, making it bounce a little quicker, or 3, make it bounce one more time so it goes a little further.

Set up champs in this meta are just.. Well.... Not viable.
