Help with Vayne

I need some help with Vayne. I have started her pretty recently. I have done really well with her some games, but her early game is terrible. I don't know if i shouldd fight a bit or stay passive and just farm the whole time. Should I be focusing on getting kills in laning phase or just cs? Would it be fine if my score is 0/0/0 or 0/0/2? I just want to know if I should cs the whole time or be somewhat aggressive. My friends would say I'm to passive if i get a score like that, so I don't know. I need help!

Vayne is hard to play. My best advice is to harrass the enemy ADC when they get too close. Early game is not Vayne's strong suit. When I played her, I played passive until level 3. The skill order I usually go for is silver bolts 1st then tumble, then condemn. The logic behind this is to get CS but when you're in range (yes I know Vayne's range is short) you harrass the ADC, if it's the tank you're hitting. Make sure you get the 3 silver rings on them first (if at all possible). I played Vayne top lane before I stopped playing for like 4 months. Now the logic behind top lane Vayne is complete and utter harrassing for the enemy top laner and deny them farm. Now Vayne is a good tank killed because of her true damage. But I would farm till about 5 mins (if you're really good at CSing) and then proceed to get your main items. Now I'm as good with Vayne as Gosu BUT I found playing her top lane was a lot more fun because the enemy team expects you to play ADC, and when they see a Jhin or another ADC..they don't know what to think. I hope this helps and good luck in the rift!Vayne

With Vayne, you really won't get kills unless your opponents don't know how to play against her and/or you have a really good support playing Blitz or Thresh or Nautilus. Generally just farm. The kills will come to you, and if you DO happen to get a kill or two early, it will be much easier late game.

In summary: play passively, especially in ranked.

Farm up early game, but make sure you apply pressure. Staying safe will make the enemy come to you, and when they mess up, don't hesitate. Condemn them into a wall or even your tower if you can, and be sure to get all three procs of Silver Bolts off, or else you will deal significantly less damage. She excels with attack speed above all other stats, and she can melt tanks if she's given the time to do so.

Note that big counters to Vayne include Tristana, Caitlyn, and Ashe. The Utility they is usually strong enough to poke you down and stay safe, while still dealing most of your health in damage. Tristana can all in you early game, Caitlyn has both traps and nets, and Ashe has a strong ult that will stop you in your tracks easy. I don't play Vayne, but I've played against enough of them to know what I can and cannot do against them.

Also, beware of facing enemy AP supports like Lux Sona (even though she sucks right now) Brand Velkoz Karma etc.

They can and will poke the everliving hell out of you. If you're laning against one of these, especially with a marksman like Caitlyn or Ezreal, you're going to die a lot. There's nothing you can do about it. You can evade some of the poke by staying behind your minions, but a lot of it (Lux E, Brand W, etc.) is effectively unavoidable and you're going to get hit and die. Recall often, rush boots, and hope you have the reflexes to evade.
