Can we do something about matchmaking ?

Overall I don't actually think it's THAT bad, but in norms, can we make it so the lower elo party member is involved in a game with their friend's elo? What I'm talking about here is when a bronze and a diamond party up, the diamond is often in a game of all low golds/silver/bronze, rather than the bronze being in a game with all plats/diamonds. If someone of low elo wants to party with a high elo player, they should have the consequences of having to deal with players of that caliber. The diamond should not be put into the low elo game and just 1v5 everyone. It happens far too often.

The opposite of what you're saying is the thing that happens most of the time & is what most people complain about lol

I think it p much is based on you and your team mmr when getting matched. I dont think the system may find a team with the exact mmr but somewhere close enough.

The system averages MMR of the team and builds an opposing team of similar average MMR. One Diamond in a team of Bronzies would skew towards Bronze. One Bronzie in a team of Diamonds would skew it towards Diamond.

It's working as intended.

Issue is. Then the High MMR players get upset they have a bad player on their team, many of whom take it out on them. As it stands it seems like MM trys to compensate as best it can but when the range of skill represents a gap of 80%+ of the games entire players that's a brutal amount of skill discrepancy for it to deal with.

The way Riot weights the average is actually based on data for what is most likely to make an even match.
