I sure hope Riot makes Illaois E work as a champion come pre season correctly with runes

Unlike this seasons interactions with keystones. Her E hasnt been consistent this season in how her E works with keystones, examples:

Fervor of battle does not stack when auto attackong spirits.

Deathfire touch does not apply to the enemy champion when she hits the spirit.

The mastery where you get 10 gold for auto attacking an enemy champion does proc on the spirit.

Thunderlords procs on the spirit if she hits the spirit with 3 attacks.

Stormraiders does not proc unless she deals enough damage to the spirit so that the enemy champion loses 25% max health.

Grasp of the undying procs on the spirit and heals Illaoi.

Some cases it treats the spirit as a champion for thunderlords, grasp, and the 10 gold mastery. Others it doesnt such as fervor and stormraiders. I hope with the runes reforged Riot fixes it or makes it clear whether they want the spirit to be treated as a champion or not.
