The new Herald seems weird, but it helps to get some tanks out of the top lane

So we now have a brand new 20 minute Rift Herald buff, which can by itself snowball a lane very hard. Before mocking it however, it's important to point out for who this will be a positive change. And no, the answer is not the passively laning teamfighting tanks who are never alone to benefit from the buff. The answer is the forgotten lane bullies like Renekton, who can pressure the tanks with mostly weak laning phases, use the pressure to get Herald, and get even more lane pressure. This makes it a lot easier to shut down tanks, creating a more diverse top meta.

So yes, a 20 minute buff which makes you win lane seems weird, but it mostly benefits a couple of champions who can use the help to fight the tanks.
