Regarding "Being shielded from demotion"

Okay so i hit gold 5 in solo/duo. Been playing flex with some friends and have lost an insane ammount of games. After the last game i just played... I now have a "!" in a triangle saying "You are being shielded from demotion, you have lost to many games to maintain your rank, win more games to maintain your rank." It says that over my solo/duo even though i have no played solo/duo in like a week.

So if i keep losing in flex will i actually demote in solo/duo?
