Why mages will not get the buffs they deserve

Mages have been in the gutter. They're not horrid but could do way better. Their AD counterparts fill their jobs much better and AP is easily countered.

Now it's so easy to say "Mages just need buffs" but champions like abuse botlane so much that it's no wonder mages get no time to shine and are forced to scale later. The nuking power and AP scaling they have is disgusting and mages offer the most oppressive laning phases as supports.

Granted - champions like offer counterplay but how often are they banned when players pick mage supports. They also get poked much more heavily early on which creates a gold advantage that can be snowballed.

AP champions need better treatment but abuse cases seems to be the only and biggest obstacle for them.
