alright i've mained nautilus since S3, and i've been through the ride from all 3 roles.
from jungle, to support, to top, and then to support.
yay....except not.
you have to understand couple of things first, nautilus have problems, BIG ONES! and people will ignore the fact that he has them because "well, he's picked in the LCS and he gonna premma CC GG"
No! understand this; nautilus' problem is his W, not his CC, not his tankyness, and definitely not his painfully Attackspeed Base and Growth, or his Disgusting movespeed. (if your argument that he's in a diver suit and he's supposed to be heavy? explain anivia's slow movement speed even though she's basically flying, or leesin, a blind man running real fast. where's your "realism" now?)
but no...let's get back to his W.
now you'll ask, what's wrong with his W? it's a shielding ability, it Scales off his Max Health, helps him Be extra Tanky while he Dishes CC, sounds perfect, no?
yeaaaaaa not really.
the thing is, Nautilus' Titan's Wrath have 2 Effects, the first is the shield that we all know and love, and the second is his On-hit DoT Effect.
now i'm gonna be honest with you folks, i have no idea why would nautilus have an on-hit DoT damage on a shielding ability, that isn't a poison or a Bleed, but then again none of those would make sense now, would it?
but before we dive deeper into this, let's take a look at this Damage from his W, yes?
The Good part: Shield Strength: 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 (+ 9 / 11 / 13 / 15 / 17% maximum health) The Terrible part: Total Bonus Magic Damage: 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 (+ 40% AP) as an on-hit DoT effect Since it's a Damage over 2 Seconds, it Actually Deals 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 (+ 20% AP) Per Second, and if you have more than 1.0 Attackspeed, you lose Damage, because the Damage refreshes and doesn't Stack, and it Deals a whole Lot less damage in an extended trade (and we're IMPLYING that it LASTED MORE than 2-3 Seconds)
why is this so bad? because it has the SAME problem mordekaiser had. (morde tankyness Tied to how much Damage he Deals)
while nautilus' Damage is Tied to his Tankyness, and when you get to the point where you're Tanky enough to sustain the shield and apply your on-hit damage, your W Damage would've already Fallen off and got outscaled.
so what am i suggesting is 1 of 3 things;
1- to have his first 2 Auto attacks upon using W to have on-hit damage that Scales off his own/Enemy's Max Health.
2- to have a minimum threshold for his on-hit Damage upon using W, and instead of making it a DoT effect, just give it the Full on-hit damage. (for exmaple if you used W and the shield got instantly destroyed, you still keep your on-hit damage for 6 seconds)
3- instead of on-hit Damage, give me a Passive that gives me more Armor/MR the more minions i kill, think of something similar to Garen's W Passive. Basically, make me Tankier instead of Dealing barely noticeable DoT Damage.
