Playing against Gragas' broken E hitbox isn't nearly as frustrating as playing with it
When Gragas was top of the class greatest ass-man in the game, a lot of these posts would pop up about his E hitbox being the wonkiest thing on the face of the Earth. Gragas hasn't been top of the class for a while, but his E hitbox never really got better.
All those videos of champions being hit while behind Gragas or way to the side - yeah, those were funny times, right? Lots of fun.
Now imagine being the player playing Gragas and getting blocked by a minion in the same manner.
Now we see the double-edged sword here.
I get that the hitbox was frustrating but, according to Riot's actions (or lack therof), "fair" considering they haven't so much as lifted a finger to actually do something about it, but playing as Grabass with the completely dysfunctional hitbox is probably one of the most infuriating things I've ever had to deal with. On three different occasions, the stun and damage from my E was blocked by minions - no I didn't try E'ing through minions thinking it's my Q, I'm not that silly. I walked around the side of them, went all the way over, then E'd to close the gap between my opponent and I - stopped dead in my tracks by the minion that wasn't even touching Gragas' model. Compensate by angling the ability further to the side away from the minion to stop that nonsense - stopped dead in my tracks.
Yeah, tends to really fuck up your flow when your calculations for how the engagement will turn out are suddenly shafted because you didn't realize that the minion 250 units behind you was going to stop you to tell you about his new business proposition.
I get this is kind of a dead horse that was buried a while ago, but it's one that, since I just had to deal with the completely asinine bugginess of the hitbox and it made me realize how little I saw it mentioned anymore, I figured I'd bring it back up because Gragas isn't doing so hot right now - and you know what, there's a pretty good possibility that his buggy fucking hitbox could be a reason for it.
So Riot, maybe instead of looking to buff him again (like you did recently), how about let's give fixing him a try first and then see where that takes us. I think that would be just dandy.
