Any tips for a first time jungler?

I'm silver and I have played every role except jungle. I want to play the new warwick but i'm scared to jungle for the first time. I don't know what order you go in when you clear, so I'm worried the enemy will steal my camps and the objectives. What tips could you give for a first time jungler? What would an experienced jungler know that a new jungler might not know. Also what is better on warwick bloodrazor or cinder?

I'm not sure about WW but here are some tips just in general.

If a lane is being pushed to your tower when an ally goes to base, go to the lane and take 1 wave to ensure the exp/gold isn't wasted.

Only gank a lane if your laner has sufficient mana to actually do something. Ganking a manaless lane will often result in you dying because they can't help.

If a lane falls behind against someone who excels at 2v1, do not gank them ever. This includes champions like Riven Darius Tryndamere Illaoi Fiora . Tell your laner to just sit at tower and try not to feed. An ally who is behind is far better than an ally who is behind as well as a fed enemy.

Buying control wards as a jungler can be a huge help to your lanes and yourself if you are getting counter jungled.

If a lane that you are near at the moment is pushed to tower with a backed enemy, help them kill the tower even if there isn't anyone there to gank.

If you are against an enemy who likes to push and is susceptible to ganks, don't be afraid to camp them. Camping may seem like a noob move, but it will often tilt the enemy making them play worse for the entire game as well as set them back.

DO NOT TOWER DIVE. Unless your are playing someone who excels at tower dives like Tryndamere or Zac, don't tower dive until you get more experienced. Tower dives work sometimes but often result in the enemy getting a 2 for 1 trade which is not worth it.

You can practice some in a custom, although in the real game you will get a leash.

(Mini) Map awareness is critical, feel free to watch your lanes while you jungle. Don't back if you're low, the buffs gives regen and you can do scuttler/honeyfruit. Back to buy.

I typically advise ganking wherever ganks will succeed. Usually where your team is pushed in and your laners have the HP to fight. Do NOT die and cede buffs.

Aggressively use the mute button.

Invasions are best fought with wards and pings. Feel free to ignore the invader and go somewhere else. Experienced junglers develop flexible pathing and react faster.

Communicate your team. Ping that you are going to gank a lane, etc.

I've seen most junglers start at their buff near bot side now, then go to gromp/krugs. Skip over chickens early, they generally kill you. Warwick has pretty good ganks, especially if the enemy laner is low, you'll run at them really fast and jump on them.

No smite start first buff. If red then go straight to wolves, blue smite gank top or mid. If blue side no smite blue, gromp, wolves, gank. This is of course my eve pathing so I gank at lv3. Krupa and raptors do a lot of damage early because they have a lot of little guys.

Want to carry? Play an impactful jungle. Eve, graves, rengar, kha.. and build according to the team. I can't tell you how many times people freak out over my ad/tank eve until I carry them lol Live2letdie2 is my eve only smurf

As a WW main, my suggestion for clear path is red > wolves > blue > gromp (I look to see if there is an easy gank before gromp) after gromp I like to tag the scuttle on that side before recalling and then doing chickens/krugs. It can vary during every game. Another thing I do pretty often is go to blue first and wait until the minions spawn, drop a ward, then run over to red right as it spawns. If someone tries to steal my blue while I am doing red, I immediately look for their blue instead. Usually I can get blue + gromp from their side before they get back over there, and they had only done blue on my side. I am usually a camp up when they try to steal my blue. Sometimes they will do a slightly delayed invade after my ward times out, which can be annoying. Even so, one lost buff won't kill you.

As far as enchantments go, I usually go Warrior, but it may not be optimal. I don't like Cinderhulk on WW, but just personal preference.

AlienPrimate hit the points well on but wanted to add a few things that I see a lot of new junglers do that really makes them suffer.

Do NOT counter jungle (going into the enemy jungle to take their camps) until you become more experienced, and when you start to counter jungle, make sure you know where the enemy jungle is first and can first the jungler if he does show up.

Make sure you use pings effectively for ganks and objectives.

Know the early game counter junglers. They include Evelynn Ivern LeeSin Shaco They will either try to steal your other buff or kill you while youre taking it. Having a teammate ward your other buff (if they are willing) or having your closest laner aware to come and help if needed is always important...and use pings :)

Ward and ward and ward...and getting a sweeper helps for vision control!

Here are some advanced tips.

  1. If the enemy jungler reveals himself on the map check his total number of CS by hitting TAB and you can deduce which camps he has done and which camps he is going to do. For example, If he completed his entire blue side then he will have 5 CS (1 gromp, 1 blue buff, 3 wolves). You can deduce that he will likely go to his red side and clear that next. A full clear of red side will result in an additional 17 cs (6 wraiths, 1 red buff, 10 krugs).

  2. The most common route is to start botside to get a good leash from your bot lane on the buff, go to wolves, and then finish with your other buff. If the enemy does this route then they will have 5 cs and red and blue buff on simultaneously.

  3. It is important to know where the enemy jungler has started so you can predict his gank path (If he starts on the bot side of the map then his first gank is most likely to be top or mid). Place a ward on his red or blue blue buff to be sure. Alternatively, if you see him with both red and blue buff on then click on him and look at the buff durations remaining on red and blue. The one that is going to expire the soonest is where he started.

  4. If the enemy picks a weak early champion like amumu or sejuani then you can be proactive and stop their ganks before they start by invading his jungle. WW has a great clear speed and is very healthy at the end of his clear. If you start bot-side buff, wolves, top-side buff, then by invading you can look to kill the enemy as he is farming his remaining camps. You are a roaming ward in a sense. I recommend doing this only if you have strong laners that are pushed up towards the enemy tower. In that instance, the enemy laners cannot leave or they will lose a lot of experience and gold.

  5. Do NOT reveal yourself unnecessarily. If the enemy team sees you on the mini-map then they can do whatever they want to your teammates in their lanes because they know they will not be ganked. If you show yourself then your pressure on the map is gone.

  6. Take scuttle crabs to protect your laners. It turns into a ward for a limited area. You can also kill the scuttle crab to gain more hp. It will not fight back, so killing it gives you some HP and experience. You can kill a scuttle crab FASTER if you hit it with hard cc first (stuns, roots) but NOT with soft cc (slows, silence). Using hard cc on the scuttle removes a lot of armor and MR making it easier to kill.

  7. If your allied laner has good hard cc to initiate then consider a lane gank. If you come through your lane then you can be 99% certain that you were not seen by any wards. If you move through river or around dragon/baron pit then it is possible that a ward was placed by the enemy jungler or laner. WW would excel at this kind of gank with your W to speed up, your q or ult to gapclose.

  8. SAVE YOUR GAPCLOSER if the enemy has flash or an escape ability. Assume you are WW ganking top with your ultimate up. You can hit w, and run into lane from river and start hitting him with red buff. Red buff can apply the slow and he will have to use his flash or escape ability or he will die. AFTER his escape has been used then use your gapcloser to finish him off.
