I finally understand why higher ranked players do not want to play with low ranked players.

For a long time, I've been stuck in low rank. I've recently refined my gameplay and am clearly the best player on map every time I load up. When I win a game, I always find myself doing things like:

  • Ping the enemy champions on the minimap.
  • Ping the objective we should be focused on.
  • Ping danger and retreat when it's time to fall back.
  • Ping locations to put wards.
  • Ask teammates to grab control wards for the map.
  • Ask teammates to gank.
  • Ping the gank route.
  • Ping the enemy summoner spells.
  • Tell teammates when summoner spells are coming back up.
  • Make baron calls.
  • The list goes on, etc.

Then, I get in another lobby, with 4 brand new people and have to repeat this process all over again. Call me lazy, but why am I the only one on the team doing these things? When do my teammates pick up the slack? It is utterly exhausting having to do this every game I want to win and never being able to simply enjoy the gameplay and have confidence my teammates are assisting me in these tasks.

I truly believe this is what MOST people complain about and have troubles dealing with. So, your ADC feeds 3 kills; Okay, talk to him a bit, calm him down, explain that he's now behind and needs to be safe and not take trades unless it's capitalizing on a mistake the enemy made.

This is why I hate low ranks and why I feel like higher ranked players don't want to play with lower ranked players, simply because if they want a win, they have to do this and it's simply not enjoyable if you're having to do it every game you queue up for.

I think it's probably worth just spending the $150+ and buying a Diamond account just to have some confidence that your teammates are going to help you with some of these things.

I've been pushing for a rank hard reset for a while, maybe this is a bad idea now that I think about it... or maybe it's a good idea to expose EVERYONE to this, then maybe more players start picking up the slack. :(

Even in diam+ you will find non communicative people.

low ranked players usually don't shut up about pointless crap and will try to justify delusional statements like Sion is OP while completely disregarding team comps.

This is what I would call being a Leader or a Shot-Caller. In team oriented games like these MOBA's when Team play and Objectives are important, your team needs a leader. You are doing what is right and making suggestions based on your game knowledge and experience. This is why you have been able to climb in ranked. You recognize opportunity and you remind or tell your team what needs to be done or what you are seeing on the mini map. I've been doing the same and it has been working as well. Higher ELO people usually know what needs to be done, but PINGS are always a good way to communicate.

It's because you're similar to them in skill regarding certain aspects. Maybe you're really good at shotcalling and you understand macro but if you're always losing your lane, getting caught late game, or making simple mechanical errors you don't deserve to climb. People start to make semi-decent map decisions at high gold, although people still get caught a lot. If you deserve to get a higher ranking, you will. I went from Diamond V 0 lp to Diamond IV promos twice this week by gaining 14 lp and losing 21-22.

Counterpoint: In Diamond+, you can lose games entirely because a member of your team is autoloss level of bad at their role.

By contrast, in low elo, you can always carry bad teammates because there is a lot more room to play better than your opponents. If I lose, I can always blame myself and look to improve.

Look, I don't want to discourage you, it's great that you are actively playing the game and that you pay attention to what is actually happening, but.. Mechanics are a big part in League unless you plan on being a Janna OTP and a ranked reset/dia account would just lead to you getting stomped to Mars. I know that unsolicited advice is very unpopular with most, but I suggest you stick with the ADC of your choice (twitch or Kog) and try to play only that champion and role. That way you can get muscle memory and the base mechanics down so that you can actually focus on macro and the other things you mentioned. It's impossible to play a champion you can't really play while also keeping track of everything, I am sure you noticed that yourself.

I wish you the best on your road to Dia!

Plz. I do this in my sleep, as in it is second nature and will be for you too if you are consistent. League is a strategy game as much as it a MOBA.

This may serve as motivation for you: I placed in bronze 4 in my first season of league (season 5) and climbed my way up to Plat III 100LP (peak). I played nearly 600 games that season. I also got banned multiple times towards the end of season for toxicity because I was focusing too much on others rather than on myself. Season 6 I played less than 200 games because I feared that Riot would have continued with ranked dynamic queue for the next season and I boycotted it. Enough about me though, when you want to win, you will find a way to win, but you also need to play a lot of games.
