Smurf accounts shouldn't be allowed

Why should smurf accounts be allowed in ranked games riot?

They ruin the game for every low elo player in the game.

It's not fair. you should make it so when you create an account it is some how linked to their primary account or only allow one account per person.

Maybe via IP address tracking or something.

I am so fed up with ppl going in low elo that are High elo screwing up everyone's day that plays against them.

I am so put off by it.

Had a kha in my last game go 28 and 1 solo carried the game distroyed everyone did 1200 dmg in 1 hit. Just sucks.

I wish you could fix this. Makes me hate the game

I shouldn't have to deal with ppl that good at silver

There is no easy way to detect smurfs without risking affecting innocent people. IP bans would severely hit internet cafés, universities, roommates and so on. Verification via phone number helps, but completely bans players without mobile phones, while also being easy to get around.

how do you purpose they stop someone from creating an account ?

How are you going to track it? I"m sure as heck not going to give Riot my SSN like they do in Korea...way too many cases of identity fraud in the US going on.

As for IP address tracking? What about households that have multiple players? My BF and I play....he's the better player then me, so is it fair that only one of us can play then?

Why can't people have multiple accounts? You get a lot of smurfs now when people are paying others to boost them to gold or whatever final rank they want but do you really see that much during the rest of the season?

First... limiting the amount of accounts that can play under a single IP would hurt people who have others who play the game in their house or just friends that come and want to play the game... not to mention something like this would kill playing the game in public spaces.

Second... linking accounts to specific emails would be worthless due to how easy it is to make an email.

Which leaves us to... third...making people have to link delicate information like SSN or credit cards or phone numbers isn't something that everyone would want or agree with. In fact most people would hate it.

So tell me how do you propose they do something about smurf accounts? When everything they can do is going to impact several people in some very negative ways

You do know tracking your IP does nothing, all you have to do is ipconfig /release on windows or change your IP address...

The IP tracking was a suggestion, I am not sure how to do it, but you could require individuals to fill out name, address or other personal info that would be required to be verified against a credit card or something that could be made mandatory, so that if the info was used again it would be flagged and there for not accepted.

I am sure if some brain power was used to solve this it could be solved, its just a matter of if it is given the importance I think it deserves.

Its not a equal skill game if everyone that plays in a rank isn't of the similar skill level. I personally don't want to play against a diamond or higher level player in silver because it doesn't really teach or help me with anything. It isn't a fair / equal challenge. All it does for me is just makes me like the game less.
