Is the matchmaking really good?
Well.. Honestly, I don't think so.
95% of my games either is composed by a very good team (the game ends fast and easy) or fulfill with incre**dible feeders. I barely remember games, which were actually fun and win or lose don't matter much, because it was competitive an challenging. With so many players, the amount of guys who never read, study or train to improve is really high. They mainly just play A LOT and one day get it there (ranked).
It will be cool if it exists hard tests to play ranked. E.g.: Farming, positioning, items, etc. If the players aren't able to pass, they shouldn't be able to play ranked. And then, they will naturally obligate themselves to actually get better. Every respectful kind of institution has a hard way to filter who get in.
Normal games still there.. They can play thousands of times in whatever way they want. I don't think that the players are the problem. But the filtering and matchmaking are. Even though is probably pretty hard to do that with high accuracy. Well.. Hire some extra developers to work on that algorithm, Riot. Run some A/B, A/A tests. Build new virtual goods concept. With challenging tests you can increase customer life-time value with aggregate products like online universities, etc. Sure you guys can totally increase the retention rate with that.
I just prefer to have fun in 95% of my games without new champs and re-works every day, than the opposite. Or even better, do both. Sure money isn't the problem.
Anyway, just sharing an opinion! :)
