The new champ select and the disavantage of being first/2nd pick

Am i the only one who finds the whole "the last three picks get to ban" bs?

So i just did 3 games today where i queue for top/mid, and i got the 3 games top first pick, guess what happened? I got counterpicked obviously, and i couldn't even ban one of my champs counters because i get to have no bans for having the "luxury" of being counterpicked by the whole enemy team.

Now in draft mode being first and second was indeed good because there was no role defined before the champ select, so obviously the first ones had the luxury of going wherever they pleased+banning, but on a mode that picks a role for everyone before you can even pick a champion, what advantage is there for the first two picks? There is none, you get counterpicked you can't ban and you pretty much need to rely on someone from your team to get fed and carry while you have a very hard laning phase and game in general.
