"Quitting League" posts becoming more frequent, I thought Boards was the "Vocal Minority..."

So if this many people are coming out and saying they're giving up on the game imagine how many countless hundreds upon thousands are quietly letting go of their addiction too...

But hey League stopped giving out population stats years ago, why would they start again now and validate every one saying their game is dying?

The boards are the vocal minority. How many millions of players do you think are playing the game weekly compared to the handful that quit? (Then come back two days later because "Im quitting LoL" is about as truthful as saying "Im quitting crack cold turkey")

Ironically, the people who talk about vocal minorities are the vocal minority.

It's just the same 2 or 3 people on their 37 accounts.

At the same time, imagine how many people actually like the changes and how many more people pick up on this game or how many people return because their favorite champion is now strong again.

The biggest indicator that the game is on its way out is not just the threads. Riot seems to be cutting back the server infrastructure in the EU regions. Some years ago even with the wonky WLAN I had back then I could get a solid stable connection - meanwhile today, hardwired into a 100k connection, the game shows random lags and what not. The number of people on my team who complain about lag or randomly disconnect has increased as well.

And this is not just people with shitty internet. If your net was consistently that shitty, you wouldn't be mid-plat. And every time it's the same: everything else works perfectly fine, just league is being weird.

I mean it just makes sense economically - who would pay for server capacity that goes unused? So obviously it gets downscaled. Riot can be sneaky about it, but they are fools if they'd think no one would notice.

Most of these people are toxic and always cry about how being toxic gets them banned and I am not sure wether these people actually quit or just say, because they believe they hurt anyone by claiming that they quit.

Going by the fact that queue time did not seem to grow I think the game is still doing fine

Just go to YouTube and when you type "League" the first thing you see is streamers who quit.

The boards are a vocal monitoring how many ones are people going to try to argue this nonsense?

Some people don’t even use the boards and use alternative things or heck nothing at all.

We can even make this comparison to Reddit, an average Reddit thread will get around 3k upvotes if it’s really good or 1k if it’s decent. Meanwhile on the boards it’s only about what 40 - 80 depending, 100+ if it’s good things.

Meanwhile most of these”I quit” thread only garner like 40 upvotes unless it’s the bandwagon FOTM topic “I’m quitting because x, look at the boards they even don’t like it”

Complete nonsense, when you have a smaller group of people the influence of ones idea spreading and people believing it’s truth (even if it’s wrong) are higher as apposed to if you did this with say 50k people.

If the game dies, let it.

Pandemic Punch5/26/2018, 5:40:03 PM1 votes

It is the vocal minority. Most people who play this game don't visit the forums. Besides, even if we saw 200k of those threads, it would still be a significant minority.

I mean the boards have also been preaching every single season about how "this is the worst season yet! league is dying!" but the game is still running strong... also most of those who "quit" if you check their account a day or two later you still see them playing the game so it's more about a "I want attention!" thread than an actual "I am quitting!" one

you seem to be forgetting that literally every fucking video game forum on earth is filled with people like you.
