Will it be worth it to start doran's blade or doran's shield on mages after runes reforged?

Early game if you have a ranged autoattack I think AD is better than AP. It's consistent damage in trades and easier last hitting. With adaptive bonuses from the new runes any champion will be able to get high AD early game and then switch to AP later if they want.

The big weakness of Doran's Ring is the lack of health sustain. With the adaptive runes anybody will be able to make use of the 3% lifesteal on Doran's Blade. Alternatively just use Doran's Shield and I assume the adaptive bonus will default to AD. I don't think the lack of the Doran's Ring mana sustain will be a big deal. You can make up for that with runes.

So anyone else thinking about doing this?
