Need help with support and top

Since Riot's 4 role queue is going to become a thing my chances of playing support are going to just from almost 0% to, well, something a bit higher.

So I'm going to be learning to play some supports and tops. For supports it'll probably be traditional supports, because as an ADC secondary nothing pisses me off more than someone trying to go full carry as a support.

And for toplaners I'm probably going to pick something ranged because I can't melee for the life of me. Probably Jayce and Kennen and very possibly GP since he's absurdly strong anyways.

So if you have any advice on runes, masteries, or goals to achieve from that lane, I can figure out the basics but a few tips for refining my play would be fantastic.
