Why were boot enchantments removed?

So far, I'm loving the 6.9 update, but I have a few things I'd like to address, apart from Brand's damage:

  • Why were boot enchantments removed?

  • Why not just one or two?

  • How will the niches be filled in? (Distortion, Captain, Furor for AD carries)

If this could be answered, I'd be very greatful,

Because 95% of the time only one enchant is bought so Riot thought it would be easier to just get rid of them.

It was because everyone was complaining about mobility creep, so Riot got rid of the most prevalent source of it. The reasons for their decision were in the patch notes, in case you never look at them.

they said alacrity is too good and everyone.buys it, so they are removing all booy enchantments.

what is next? remove all boots?

tl;dr: just go read the patch notes

Long version: there is too much MS available right now AND historically boots enchants have never been a meaningful choice: you just took the one giving MS in the most useful way 90% of the time. It was homeguard before, it is alacrity now, and it would be Furor for ADC/Captain for everyone else if alacrity was removed.
