There is. Run away and try to dodge further abilities. Knockups - they have no counterplay. Silence, on the other hand, has more counterplay than any other hard CC, since you still have full control of movement.

Crowd Control (CC) - is intended to have less counterplay, that is what is needed for. Just imagine not having a way to stop a fed . With 0 suppresses, stuns, knockups, snares, taunts, fears, etc. on your team. CC in itself is a form of counterplay, that OP or that wrecks your team needs something to stop them.

Engaging with CC is the way trade damage or kill your opponent.

Can all prevent/remove silence and other than polymorph, you can still autoattack when silenced.

Even AD champions have difficulty fighting against silence. It's solely AA champs that remain (mostly) untouched by it. Basically, stay out of crow range and run from the screaming Garen.
