On youtube there's a plethora of videos explaining things that would surely be useful to a bronze, I'm sure they would be pretty easy to find also. They include things like Zone Control, CSing, roaming, when to fight, how to determine what you should be building.

Just spectate high elo games featured in the client. Watch what they do and copy them. That's how I got to diamond.

I'll give you some advice.

Watch high level streams and go on Youtube to watch the LCS games. What do they do differently? I'll highlight the main differences between them and you that you'll need to focus on:

They focus on CS and XP more than anything. An LCS game typically has about 15-20 kills on the winning team. That's about half the average game in Bronze and Silver. Now, while this is going to be partly down to the fact that they're playing as a team of five with tactics, it's also down to the fact that CS is King. CS wins you games. XP also wins you games. If you have a CS and XP advantage over your opponent, you are winning your lane and you're more likely to win your fights.

Conversely, kills are not as important to them. They understand that if they die, they're going to be losing out on CS and XP and that's going to throw them behind. As a result, they don't take the risks that lower level players do. Lane phases are for getting CS and poking. The objective is not to kill the opponent but to deny their farm and get a CS and XP advantage over them. There are fewer kills in high level games because not dying is more important than killing. That's something you need to keep in mind the entire time when you're playing.

Picture this: You're in lane, you're level 5, your jungler comes in for a gank. You get your opponent down to 5% hp but they're under their turret. You dive and kill them, but they kill you in the process. Sound familiar? I've seen it countless times at lower levels. It's bad. Keep in mind that a gank does not have to end in a kill. Ganking is primarily to ease the pressure on a teammate lane, or apply pressure to an enemy in one. If you get your opponent to 5% hp and diving is going to get you killed, let them recall! You've got a chance to get about 12 CS unopposed, and if you last hit, your opponent is going to miss out on it. You can end up with a 24 CS advantage on your opponent, plus an XP advantage. That's much better than diving and dying under their turret. To put it into perspective, around 15 CS is equal to the gold you'll get from one kill.

I told my housemate, when he started playing, to remember that kills don't win games, but deaths do lose games. Yes, kills help, but dying has such a greater effect on the outcome of the game.

To summarise: Learn to last hit. Focus on CS over kills. That doesn't mean to say you shouldn't go for kills, but try to capitalise on your opponent's mistakes rather than just focusing on killing them. Avoid dying, the XP and CS losses are not worth the risk. Watching LCS games and high level streams will make this clear and show you just how important CS is. You'll also pick up on other things which you can use.

(Yes, have simplified and generalised the LCS games here. For the purposes of the thread (OP getting better), what I have explained is all OP needs to know. )
