Need Riot's help with answering a question about MMR and how to fix it

I am very confused to how MMR works. I had about 2100 MMR a few days ago and tanked to about 1950 which over the coarse dropped me from Diamond to Platinum. Once I was in Plat 1 I would still verse Diamond 5's. I would occasionally duo with a friend in order to secure a victory easier and would still find my self versing Diamonds. However, whenever I solo now my MMR is considered inaccurate and thus places me in the low Gold MMR ranged. I was wondering how MMR works and how it seems that it could polarize from high to low between games. Maybe someone could answer how the MMR system even works and how to fix it. Should I duo more in order to "lock" my MMR into another's Elo or should I solo and tank my MMR some more so that way a plat 1 can be matched with Silvers????????????????????????????????????????????????? :D :D :D ???????ADblfgj lkvjdlalz flaslkdja vzdflfAVOISJDkD

MMR changes fairly consistently as you win/lose. The changes gain some pace on streaks of wins or loses tho. LP/Division tends to lag behind it so those with big loss streaks play vs. lower division before they are that, or the opposite, you have to beat some bottom barrel d5's to become that as p1. MMR does all the matchmaking. Divisions/leagues are just flavored candy wrappers basically.

Do whatever works best for you to win the game. Maybe until you start seeing 20+ LP a win in plat 1. Then maybe duo with a capable lower elo friend for the final games maybe promos.

As you know, LP gains are determined by your MMR relative to your current rank.

Remember all 3rd party websites are using ther own guestimations to give you "MMR". Each one is imperfect in their own ways, some more than others.
