Last hitting with Q adds stacks for every enemy he last hits with it at once similar to GP with Q on barrels. So if Nasus last hits with Q while he built Shiv, Ravenous, and Iceborn Gauntlet and kills 6 minions from that Q he gains 18 stacks.

All auto attack empower type abilities(Darius W, Nasus Q) apply DFT.
