i honestly feel her rework is just meh and need more dmg the great thing about poppy she used to deal lots of dmg and stay tanky with new rework i think riot should of keep her old q and change this e and made her new w activ like her old passiv then this would of been great rework

Poppy rework - apparently the second coming of christ for people who hated poppy or never played her. Those that actually did enjoy poppy mostly agree that WE wanted a fighter /bruiser not a pure babysitter tank.

There seems to be a lot of backlash against people actually liking old poppy and her fighter playstle which makes people downvote those that did to oblivion, go figure, almost as if it was some other toplane champ (perhaps someone metal)

I'm gonna go with bad because it completely erases what she was known for: insane diver of the hardest ham

Her damage is gone, she is now just a peel buddy instead of the one that needs to be peeled - why would I play her now over alistar or janna?

yes her ultimate and passive needed to be overhauled because they were toxic, but COME ON!

I am under the impression that riot only listened to people that were under the impression that she was a tank in the first place without ever reading that she was appropriately labeled as a fighter/assassin (psst, I have never seen full tank poppy do anything relevant)

And now, by popular vote, I have to lose everything I liked about my favorite champion... yup that is reasonable, totally fair - oh and I'm gonna probably lose my toplane taric soon too, outrageous

Everything but her ult was good. Her ult is completely useless. Other than possibly being able to fling a tank away late game (which games end quicker now, so....), that ult is completely dumb. I won't play her now simply because of the stupid ult

I think "meh" about sums up my feelings about the rework. It's a kit that can be made viable by tweaking the numbers - release it a little overtuned and people will play her because of the OP damage, then later tone it down to be on par with other champions. However, there's nothing in her new kit that makes me enthousiastic.

Edit: and that new ult of hers seems so troll. "Oh, you were about to kill that enemy? Let me 'help'."

It does not matter. Balance in the game is fine. Your own skill will trump any perceived game imbalance.

Some changes to her kit that would make her less mediocre in her current state (Probably only apply one or two changes at a time):

  1. Her passive needs to pretty much be a long range autoattack, for some reason it doesn't have enough damage ever. It also needs to apply on hit effects and scale with cooldown. This would make it versatile like Jayce is with his melee/ranged kit.
  2. Her Q needs more range or surface area or even just be an autoattack. Honestly, this ability is sometimes worse than landing most skillshots because the range is so small and champions can just juke behind poppy.
  3. Her W just sucks and is useless for most everything. Either delete it and bring back the old one or make the duration shorter but make it hit all champions outward, not just dashing champions. This ability makes entire team counters to Poppy and it just does not have good bonuses in movespeed, armor, or magic resistance. At least the old ability gave a load of damage at full stacks.
  4. Her E could be better if you could dash and if you are near a wall before the duration of the dash goes off, make a sharp turn and smack stun them. Kinda like a melee bard q but with a champion not a projectile. You could also make it combo with the w so that you can W and push them outward in a direction then better situate yourself to a wall.
  5. Her R is just horrible in general. I understand its use for getting out a carry from a fight or making an escape, but the channel is too long and with the new juggernauts, this is horrible in any sort of counterplay. Either make it so that you can mark one of the hit champions and mega jump to them, like a really awesome Lee Sin Q which would single out a carry for you to take out without any enemies destroying you OR just bring back the old ult because that was so much fun. It should also give you a damage buff towards that specific champion in case you hit up a vayne or something. Also none of this "hits towards spawning fountain point" crap. That doesn't make any sense, just make it a Lee-Sin kick in a direction. Before you say "oh we can't just snuff out Lee Sin with this new rework," it's not what you think. This is a different version of his abilities. For one, it isn't used to engage teamfights and it takes a lot of channeling depending on what the function is for you. Also it shouldn't be able to execute so don't give it huge damage.

There. Pick one or two of these, or even all of them and you got a champion that can actually stand a chance against actual Juggernauts. Honestly, with her current kit, I'd rather play other Juggernauts that can do the same thing better soooooo this really needs to be fixed. Thank you!

I've been comparing her to moakai, decent damage in lane and becomes more of a bodyguard outside of lane, like she can be a diver still with her E and W blocking escapes, or she can sit back and use her abilities to be a linebacker for your carries

I don't think her ult is useless, it's like bards ult, people aren't playing it right, I had a poppy ult away 2 carries in the middle of my wukong cyclone. It's a common mistake you see all your teammates dump there ults on the enemy for a wombo so it's only natural to do the same, people would do the same thing with bards ult.

I do agree with the idea that the massive displacement ult doesn't match the diver play style, but I disagree with her W passive being damage reduction, damage reduction is really powerful and I like how the bonus resistance passive encourages itemizing for tanky stats, where damage reduction is just to make guys who wouldn't be tanky, get tanky without investing gold into it, which isn't ever fair feeling when it's someone who builds a ton of damage and murders people

Jiharu12/13/2015, 6:54:36 PM1 votes

I also think that Riot destroyed a very unique champion. Now Poppy feels like a dull AD/Tank with a very strange (dumb) ultimate... Q is now even more dependend on E. And even with the small AOE, Poppy is still one of the worst farm champions, hence Poppy will not be played more, but even less since many of the Poppy players preferred her kit.

Sorry Riot i am at a minority but i would appreciate the old Poppy far more than.. this.

She feels really responsive and fun. Her damage definitely seems lower but she has a ridiculous amount of tankiness and utility. She's pretty much the premier carry peeler now while still doing enough damage that the other team just can't ignore her. Sure she won't be one shotting people but she can still wreck some havoc.

JackMcSnipeyz11/25/2015, 11:02:41 AM1 votes

Yea i agree, getting stunned and killed in .5 seconds while not being able to retaliate was an extreamly fun healthy and cool mechanic

Vanjie11/25/2015, 6:54:14 PM1 votes

Good. I like everything about her. Her ult is funny too :D

Rowsdowr12/11/2015, 4:40:18 PM1 votes

The visual rework is fine and I like her new w but losing that q on her is rough. She seems to seriously lack damage output now. I understand they wanted her tanky and riots idea of tanks are, they don't do great damage but if they get close to you, they can hurt (Garen) Poppy's kit does't have this. I really miss the old q.

The old Poppy was wtf - 1 hit KO with magic dmg crit. It was retarded.
