How... Just how...
So i just played a game of league went 18/0 as zed had the most cs in game and I finish off the game and get an A+. And I've been trying to figure out how the ranking system works for a while. Can anyone tell me why this happened?

Mastery ranking is really a sham. There are champs that solo carry a game yet are the only ones who don't get S rank in the team. It's cool to emote Mastery icon before when it was still allowed but other than that Mastery is an ego booster that created a lot of toxicity by creating false confidence in bad players who just simply played a lot.
It's pretty simple. Zed is played a whole Hell of a lot, and any good player can snowball to a veritable mountain of kills. Ergo, his qualifier for an S rank is harder than say, a less played champ. Like Urgot or Fiddlesticks.
Your grade depends on your percentile performance compared to all others players on that champion in that role, so it's occasionally possible to do exceptionally well by your own personal standards and compared to your teammates and generally carry a game, but if the community on the whole has enough better performances (even better cs/more warding/kill particpation/objective participation/better still kda/etc), then you might still get 'only' an A instead of an S grade.
To get an S grade, you really have to be in the top percentages of all players in that champ/role combination, and that's a tall order sometimes, particularly on popular champions favoured by high elo players (as ones mmr is not factored into grade).
(Also, the mastery emote not currently working is a bug, rather than something intentionally removed to due toxicity.)
